Want your own Online Game?

Okay, Ive put ALOT of hours into my online game and Im at the point where it would be nice to see some more return on my hardwork. I am selling version .7 of my Online Game Script for AgeofWars.com.

Script is old custom. Includes all of the following:
-Battle Engine
-Shop
-7 Built in Units
-Messaging Center
-Taxes

And more.

Total Cost for ALL Scripts, and working template similar to mine is $50. All rights belong to me, but you are allowed to use this script for as many copies of the game as you wish that are owned by you. I will need the URL of each game your run Emailed to Darkfire001@aol.com so that I can track each copy of the game and make sure the script stays intact.

NOTE: Version .7 of the game has some existing bugs, and althrough the code is pretty well documented the battle engine for instance is over 400 Lines of code. I DOT NOT provide PHP/MySQL support past the initial installation for Version .7 of the script.

NEW!!!
I am selling the unrealesed Version .8 of the AgeofWars.com script for $100. This script is significantly better then the .7 in several ways.

-All Known Bugs Fixed from Version .7
-New Dynamic Battle Engine is 1/2 the size of .7's but 4 Times More Powerful.

(NOTE: The .7 battle engine is hardcoded and all stat changes must be done in the PHP code itself, the units are all hardcoded in so adding or subtracting new units is complicated, BUT the .8 Battle Engine is dynamic which means to change a units stats simply go into the Admin Panel and change the figures as you wish. The Engine Loads the Stats from MySQL so that now coding changes are needed. The engine also introduces the ability to handle as many units as you wish to have.)

-Dynamic Shop System
-Code for Partially Built 2D Interactive Map Engine in Development. (I will provide URL shortly if people are interested)

I will also OFFER SUPPORT FOR VERSION .8 In the form of Fixed Code, Upgrades, and I will install the game for you along with 1-Hour of Slight Customization.
(NOTE: Support for .8 Will be discontinued after .9 Releases, but .9 will not realese until December/January at earliest)

Total Price Sheet:
- Version .7 :: $50
- Version .7 --> Version .8 :: $75
- Version .8 :: $100
- Version .8 --> Version .9 :: ??? (NOTE: Not more then $50)
- Version .9 ???
- Version .2 of Map Engine (Free with .8)
- Version .3 of Map Engine for Version .9 :: $25

If your are interested post here. NOTE: There are some negative values in the AgeofWars.com system so some numbers might be funky.

Well it would be a Text Based War Game, but there wouldnt be a problem of too many people having the same kind since Im only thinking 2-8 people will take me up on the offer for Version .8 and in that hour or so of customization Ill be changing all unit stats/names/and types to your liking along with the basic gist of the game.

DarkFire....Need to talk.

I used to run a gameing system like this for 2 companies...and at it's peak, I used to have to deal with a player community of over 220,000 players.

Could you let me know some info on DB's, strain, clock times etc for running the game.

chrs
Matt

Were those 220,000 players on one game? And was it written in PHP/MySQL? I doubt something other then C++ or C could handle that.

The version .8 is pretty smooth code, but in terms of query times Im actually setting up a system to measure it right now. The game handles 600 Players fine, but Ill test it some more.

They were indeed, all in one online game. The game was written in ASP or ASPnet and it used a MySQL backend. The hardest part of keeping the "smoothness" of the game was on 2 aspects. 1 the ticker kept getting delayed whilst cycling through the accounts and adding / minus the relevant points / info. Then the second ticker (the WAR ticker) would get slowed down, because once people figured out the best time to attack, 50% of the community would launch at the same time and start fighting at the same time.
The second issue is one that hurts ALL online games in there infancy. the cheaters!. Many people used to write bots for activation times etc so they wouldnt have to be around to do anything, which, as u understand, takes ALOT of the game away.
What safeguards do you have for this?

The reason I ask, is that I'm quite interested in working out a deal with you, and putting it all up on www.GalaxyWar.com
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/for-sale-advertising-board/9316-want-your-own-online-game.html

Thanks

Well, if you wanted an more efficient script we would have to write something from the ground up, because to handle that many players would need some very efficient code. Cheaters are a big problem too, but more and more ways to prevent overall cheating are becoming available.

I was going to offer to buy it, but then I reread your post and realized that you are NOT selling the game, you are only selling copy rights of the game.. so nvm.
