Hey,
I'm in the very early stages of developing MarketForums.net, a future phpBB-based investing forum. As you can see from the site, there is much work to be done; I need a team. Here are the jobs I'm looking for:
1. Investing/stock market gurus & moderators: 3-5 people
Requirements: You should know what you're talking about when it comes to at least one of the following categories: bonds, funds, stocks or investing in general. You will be a moderator on the forums for your category and will help members with any questions they have regarding investing.
What you get: An equally divided share of 40% of all revenue the site makes (more info below). Also, you can promote your biz with an 88x31 banner on the front page (I'm adding a portal to the site soon) and you can sticky a thread about your biz in your respective forum - so if you are a "money market fund" guru, then you can sticky a thread advertising your biz in the money market forum.
2. Forum admins: 2-3 people
Requirements: You need to know how to administrate a forum, obviously. You will promote the forum and assist members with anything they may need. You should also be knowledgable about phpBB (we may switch to vBulletin if the site is successful).
What you get: An 88x31 logo on the front page (again, I'm adding the portal for this later) advertising your biz, and a sticky wherever you want in the forum advertising your biz. Also, you will get one of the equally divided shares of 40% of the forum's revenue (see below).
3. Developer: 1 person
I need someone to help me develop the forum. Knowing PHP is a definate plus. You need to know how to modify phpBB templates and how to administrate phpBB (you'll have full FTP access to the site). We'll work together to add features like a stock ticker, newsfeeds and more.
What you get: An 88x31 banner on the front page advertising your biz, one of the equally divided shares of 40% of the forum's revenue and the ability to give yourself credit as the designer of the website. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for portfolio work!.
Also, all staff members get 5 Gmail invites if you'd like
MarketForums.net is going to be successful. It will be a team effort. To pay for hosting, fund advertising and get some profit, my share of the revenue is 60 percent (I have hosting under control, btw). Revenue will come from advertising once we get the site up and running. At first, I plan to use Google AdSense. Once I recieve a check, I will take 40% of the check's amount and divide it by the number of staff. Each staff member will recieve one of those divisions. When the forum gets big enough to where we can charge medium-to-large companies for premium ad space, I plan to cancel AdSense and do that, and keep the revenue split the same. This is a great opportunity. The site can become huge and we can all earn some great profit - it's all about how much work we put into it. Note that if we make enough to the point where taxes need to be paid, I am prepared to file taxes as required.
If you're interested in one of these positions, please PM me with your name, age, gender (just for info; NO gender discrimination and age doesn't really matter, as long as you know what you're doing), primary email, IM addresses, and why you think you'd be a good part of the MarketForums.net team. I am available on AIM at T2 Skyraider and on MSN at
zdexter@carolina.rr.com if you'd prefer to contact me that way.
Thanks,
Zach
