Help!!! I need ideas...

Hey guys, most of you already know about my comic strip on DNKitchen.com. Well, I need some ideas for comic strips. We have a lot of creative, funny people here at NP, so help me please...lol

FYI, if I use your idea you will get a GoDaddy gift card for the purchase of one domain.

Thanks,

Patrick

Hmmm.

How about the fact that it only takes nine bucks to register a domain, but if the domain goes into redemption it costs like $100 to get it back. Why is that? Does the registrar need to pay some golf green fees off?

Or, maybe a play off of that email that has made the circuit talking about the worst domain names? Names that were meant for one niche but spell something else entrely?

Maybe the idea that some domainers will list domains for 40,000 but accept offers of 50 when received?

How about someone registering the misspelling of a popular misspelling of a popular domain? Like a double misspelling theory?

Or maybe poking fun at all the political names that get regged. Palin-Clinton2012.cc?

How about an ongoing cartoon about a guy trying to find the perfect domain extension to create, and why ICANN won't acept it. ( .terrorist so terrorists can have their own personal domain. , etc... )

How about a guy griping about how he can't make any money domaining that suddenly hears the weather report of a new hurricaine approaching, and regs ikedeathtoll.com, hurricaine-ike-2008.net , etc....

How about poking fun at folks that have been domaining for eighteen hours straight. What do they eat and drink, anyway? Maybe they get a discount now on sodas they purchase. Maybe a vending machine company brings in a sandwich machine and places it in the domainer's home, next to his computer?

Maybe a domainer makes a first encounter of a new alien race, and he pulls out his laptop to reg the .com of the aliens first name?

"Hello, Earthling, I am Drizzzlagt of the planet Neptune."

Domainer whips out his laptop, "Is that with 2 zs or 3?"

"Three, earthling!"

Domainer Grimaces. "Darn! It's already taken!!!"

Then he smiles joyfully, "Hey! The misspelling is still available! Woo hoo! I'm rich!" Domainer runs off.

You come home after a late night with the boys (or girls), hop on GoDaddy and all of a sudden, "MulletLove.com" pops in your head... "I can develop it into a redneck dating site!"

The next morning you read the confirmation e-mail from the registrar... "WTF was I thinking???"

Uhh, refund request, please!

I still like this idea:

A guy is talking to his friend:

Guy1; Hey! I just regged GoogleTalk.com!

A big guy with a Google shirt walks up

Guy1: Yea, Im going to sell it to google for $1,000,000!
Guy2: Uh dude...

The big guy grabs Guy1 and drags him off screen. Hes comes back all beaten up

Guy1: GoogleTalk.com is no longer available at this time...

Okay, how about this one.....

Father holding newborn son in arms, visitors saying, "Aw, how sweet! What's his name?"

Father answers, "Williamopolis."

Visitors: "Wha-?"

Father: "It was the only .com that was available..."

Hmmm, this is more fun than working.

Wife is complaining, standing behind husband, who is working on computer.

She is holding a broken item and says, "This is terrible, it's near mint condition, not mint! I want to get even!"

Husband: "Hmmm. MerchantsSuck.com is available...."

Wife:"Great! Register it for ten years. That will show them!"

BTW, to any of you reading this, MerchantsSuck.com and Williamopolis.com are, indeed, available, hehe....

How about this one...

Guy is surfing the internet and discovers domaining.
Next stip shows the guy furiously searching forums regging domains, so on. Basically doing NOTHING except domaining and drinking coffee.
Guy decides to take a break after a straight week or so of domaining. Goes out side and is super pale and cringes at the sunlight.

Yeah prolly pretty lame but i thought it was funny !

2 people sitting at opposing computers, typing to each other.

Buyer: "I'd like to buy your domain. How much?"

Seller: "Fifty thousand dollars! It's the .com, it rules!"

Buyer: "No thanks, I just registered the dot net for nine bucks."

Dad, thinking to himself: "Hmmmm, I wonder if SchoolSpace.com is available."

Son hands father a gift.
Son: Happy birthday dad!
Dad: I hope it's a tie!
Son: Better than that, it's a 90% discount code off your renewals at Network Solutions!
Dad bursts into tears: It's what I've always wanted !!

Boss: Hey Larry, someone regged the .com of my name!
Larry: Really?
Boss: They said I'm evil and a jerk!
Larry: No way, that's terrible!

Larry, Thinking To Himself: "Thank God!!!!"

Domainer 1: Hey, what is my domain worth?
Domainer 2: An election typo .cc? Less than reg fee.

Domainer 3: Great domain, I'd say mid $x,xxx.
Domainer 2: You're a genius! Thank you!

Here's an idea:

Have a guy sitting at the computer and says "CRAP! Cars.com is registered!" then have him thinking then saying "GOT IT!" and then show a confirmation email or have him talking to a friend, saying he registered "Newandusedcarsinyourarea.info" or another TLD

I think it would be funny to do a Political Cartoon - where Obama, McCain, Palin and the other guy are at thier PC's trying to register their names - and get freaked to see their taken, then try typos and misspellings - and they taken too! Then they try longer stuff like TheObamaPresidency.com and thats taken too ...so he ends up registering TheObama2008PresidentialBidOfficialWebsiteOnline.c om - lol I think this may border real life - until they got put lawyers to work...
