I have no idea what progarmming language it uses to compile the actual application (see the attached example a few posts up).

It uses templates you create with embedded tags to create the application for you. If you're clever, once you get the hang of it, I'd think you could produce alot of useful small apps with it. The included docs are not the greatest but there is a support desk if you run into problems.
