Today I took the list posted in
this thread, ran it through a giant wordlist to eliminate worthless names and then I looked up all remaining words/acronyms on Google. The result is a list of the most popular words that are still available as .com domains. The list looks like this (Google hits / LLLL / Meaning; why so many Google hits):
Code:
446000 XXXX Icelandic word
237000 XXXX Technical term; chip development
202000 XXXX East European institute
176000 XXXX Name of Open-Source software
107000 XXXX No real clue; apparently technical term from biology / medical research
103000 XXXX Misspelled English word
94800 XXXX Technical term from chemistry R & D
91600 XXXX Abbreviation of an English word
87700 XXXX Jewish (first) Name
86400 XXXX Technical term from biology / medical research

82300 XXXX Technical term from engineering R & D
73900 XXXX Finnish name
72100 XXXX Misspelled English word

Note that I only looked up the meaning of the words > 20,000 Google hits (88 words), the other 461 words with less hits are only listed but their meaning is not explained.

The list is available for $10 (Paypal). The huge wordlist (1034382 English words sorted by popularity in the English language) I mentioned is available for $10 too just in case someone wants it.
PM for Paypal details.
Oh yeah, just to make that clear, I bought the Icelandic word and the first misspelled English word myself.
All other domains should still be available though. The first buyer of the list will probably buy the other popular misspelled words, so be quick.
