Pin.Us?

That could be some kind of poster affiliate site perhaps?
Or a "pin ups" site?

My sick, sick mind suggests something not pin related.

Could be a site to sell pins for upcoming elections?

Pins trading site? Pins are very big in the olympics. Many people from all over the world collect and trade them.

I agree with Microdude. Pins are a highly collectible item throughout the world. Coke sponsors a huge pin trading area at each of the Olympic Games and hundreds of thousands of pins are sold and traded there during each Games. Disney also launched a very successful pin trading program about 3-4 years ago.

I am sure there is some great end-user potential with this domain but if you decide to develop it, a pin trading forum would be a great start.

Airwav is onto something here. Very nice idea to use the subdomains for a great pin collector's website!

A great idea there. A friend of mine has been collecting political pins and buttons for a long time. He literally has thousands. He alsoo buys books for reference, rating, current valuation, ect. And, of course, those data are alwasy changing. So, there must be a market for pins and collectors out there - and the stuff they buy.

Nice one.

I'm stretching my mind, but there may be an affiliate program at shareasale.com for specialty pins, you might check that out. Might be cj, but I think shareasale.com

Let's not forget the ever used PIN as in PIN number you use with your debit card...

Would be a nice name for a site/portal that advertised/promoted banks and debit cards etc......

My first thought for you name was bowling pin. If it was my name, thats the direction I would go with it. Bowling is big in the us and you have a great name for that niche. Here are the top 20 ovt results for "pin" to give you some idea of what people are looking for.

29808 pin
25823 lapel pin
8006 pin up girl
5725 min pin

3621 custom lapel pin
3235 bowling pin <------- Bowling

2096 flag pin
2088 ten pin bowling <------ Bowling

The other bowling related searches under the keyword "pin"

I like the collectible item pin idea best though you could also sell prepaid cards of all types - these are sold online in the form of pins or instant pins (pin numbers).
