As Jimbo said, the www version doesn't resolve but the http:// version does. It appears to be the same content as the .COM so the question now is CNN migrating to promoting the .TV version?

And yes, this is big news, specially if they start using the .tv in advertising, as media companies go, turner's probably one of the biggest worldwide.

Turning point for .tv... maybe, maybe not, but it sure will up the general public's perception of .tv as an independent extension, which can only do good.

My machine is pulling identical content for both CNN.COM and CNN.TV. The "beta" is on both. It's a masked forward or duplicated "A" Record I believe. I've seen them do this in the past with other CNN.TLDs as well.

Oh ok thanks mg, I remember watching parts of the Casey Anthony trial and they kept saying constantly something like "watch the rest of the trial on CNN.com/live" They probally just want to say CNN TV

Very good news...Both the .com and the .tv are showing the same content, but it is not a redirect that I can see. If they have just launched I guess this is just the start and lets hope for dif content down the road.

That's because CNN.TV takes you to the US edition of the CNN website by default. When you answer "yes" it places a cookie in your browser so next time it remembers your choice. This is the standard behavior of the US site.

I get the main page, but when I click on a tab (Entertainment, Opinion, etc.), I get a blank page.

However, when I click on a story, I get the story and still on .tv, complete with added URL info.

So NOT a cloaked/masked domain.
