.TV Domainers.

Here's something to consider.

Last year there were a number of people that were putting back orders on Legacy premiums in the hope that Name.com would catch the name for a one time fee.

This year there's me. I dropped four names thinking I could try and catch them when they dropped (knowing that I would likely lose out to Manos or MrRhee). I have dropped others I didn't care about too
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/dot-tv/728007-tv-domainers.html

What I didn't expect? The names are BACKORDERED EVERYWHERE!

I mean seriously - they went through the Dynadot auction and were available for $35... and now they're backordered?

Considering that you can't sell a name on NP for $10, it's odd that backorders are taken... but anyway

Good luck to the new owners. I won't be trying to catch them.

I did actually lie to make me feel better:
Two of the names I didn't actually mean to drop and was just hoping to pick up. Boo!

So. .TV domainers- you are an interesting bunch of unpredictabe people!

.TV Domainers are certifiably crazy!

Yeah it doesnt seem to make sense to smaller portfolio owners who dont market their domains as much as they do...but when you have such large portfolios as those two do and you move as many domains as they do, it becomes just a numbers game. So ya hit a few, and a lot you don't but as long as your roi keeps rising then I guess you keep grabbing all you can.

This is one of the reasons why I have lost a lot of interest in .tv domaining. It used to be fun clicking away at 0400 in the morning trying to snag a decent drop before the competition knowing that you had at least an equal chance with everyone else who had taken the trouble to stay awake!....... These days with all the advanced back-ordering (sometimes months in advance)you don't have a cat in hell's chance of getting anything that is anywhere near decent. No point in chasing something you cannot catch!

I think there is 4 in the "backorder gang" at name.com
Smart guys who are playing the game with the cards stacked in their favor.
I like seeing people flourish and in this .tv biz having that edge is the key to success. Bravo.

I wish I had paid more attention now. ;p

Just remembered something ... wasn't it you who picked up something I dropped by mistake last year if I recall now? ... then yes you are right in your thinking ... TampaBay.TV and surrounding MSA will be "showing" up in due time my friend

No!
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=728007

I was the one who told you to renew the name when it was mentioned about 1 month prior to expiry.
I was the one that said had I picked it up I would not have taken advantage of your mistake.

Well. If you did get what I am talking about, then at least it will be in decent hands and I wish you the best
