![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | For the Record .TV Interesting post on The Domains today: http://www.thedomains.com/2011/07/09...#comment-89096 Started off as a discussion of .CO but it seems that our old pal Snoop is at it again taking posts from AllThings.TV out of context and looking at the .TV subforum here as having less vibrant discussion as signs that .TV sucks. Personally, I am not that fussed but I just wanted to say that the amount of discussion on this forum has decreased in part due to people going about their business in private, achieving personal goals, a settling of the market place (not the same as a disappearing marketplace). No doubt .TV is not as big as .COM - heck, it might not be as big as .CO... but most of the silence has come as a result of the constant B$ that went on here that made things simply unenjoyable. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/dot-tv/722592-for-the-record-tv.html The constant banging heads around here made people go away more than any negative .TV chatter. What didn't go away? People talking via the phone, via email via other avenues. I, for one, am quite happy with the level of communication, discussion and sharing that is happening in .TV. Do I wish I was more? Sure. I love to engage in conversation. Do I wish there was less? Sure. I love to do other things. No point to this thread other than to say.. .TV is what it is, take it or leave it. Don't listen to those who live breathe and tell you that you will become rich (or they are) and ignore those who tell you it's all doom and gloom. It's neither. Pretty sure that Snoop didn't quote Claude And it was nice that MHB challenged Snoopy a little. I actually miss the a-hole.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | John I would always join in any thread you started. You are too much the person who everyone knows who actually cares - and you always deserve some respect. With regard to the 'stuff' discussed elsewhere... Does anyone actually care? Most of the few I know who have been solid in the .Tv world and held there ground are now making 5 figures plus every year and really don't give a sh^t what some aged Australian thinks - whether it it true, false, or even paid for! ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=722592 The whois, as snoop once mentioned, never lies. All one has to do to find truth is actually look if people are increasing or decreasing their portfolio size! ...and welcome and enjoy to all those who are new to the world of .tv - You are late, but very accurate in your direction. Premiums are dead, LL.tv's are fashionable, and geo's are still 'gold' - and anyone who buys a two word .tv name will come back in six months complaining that .tv is crap. Nothing changes! Except perhaps the fact that the price of .tv names does seem to have a more tangible and navigable drift toward 'upwards'.

Don't feel like I've done much recently though.. Letting some poor choices drop Too much research not enough action in the main! Have a meetup on Wednesday and hoping it might be helpful. I get more excited about helping others than helping myself. This is a recent self-realization. Creating is far more an admirable achievement...sharing ideas is alsointeresting. I think the point of the post was more just to make sure that people realize that I'm around - I like to receive emails, I talk via PM, I talk via Phone, I talk via Instant Messenger and I know that there are others that do this too. I know who responds - and I've been surprised at how nice the "big boys" are in their responses. These are the guys with TV portfolios to die for AND major .com portfolios. Seems that .TV softens their ego! I guess I got too defensive and didn't need to post ... ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=722592 I think I was irked about how he had twisted your words and taken them out of context. I also hated how he "outed" Domainer with some low blows. If Snoop says what he thinks I really don't care. I actually respect his opinion and I will even take on board what he says. What I don't like is his pompous attitude towards people and his abuse of other people's words. My point was really nothing more than people out here are good people. If you want to ask questions about .TV there are people that check this forum every day. There are people that check AllThings.TV every day. It's not a dead community no matter how hard some have tried to kill it ! I don't want Snoop to prevent someone from participating in .TV - be it in domaining, building a platform, marketing, or just through curiousity. Everyone can afford to broaden their horizons. TALK IS FREE.
Melting down the metal and collecting the gold.

I'm obviously a confused and conflicted individual who's crap at listening to himself when coming to realize things!

![]() ![]() ![]() | Nice thread, John. it's thought-provoking to read opposed ideas, including opinions by the aged relative (snoop?) ... As long as .COM is relevant and mainstream, at least a few people won't hesitate to embrace the irrelevance of .TV ? G. H. Hardy put it very well in A Mathematician's Apology: It is not worth an intelligent man's time to be in the majority. By definition, there are already enough people to do that. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Excellent post John. In my opinion, domain investing is very speculative by nature, be it .com, .tv, .info or any other extension. You need to go into it prepared to loose. As a whale at a Las Vegas baccarat table once said, as he was putting down $20,000 a hand, "no guts, no sausage." That was over twenty years ago but it stayed with me all these years. Rome was not built in a day, nor will .tv 2.0. The relaunch took place less than 18 months ago. There have been some encouraging indicators in this short period, but only time will tell what the future holds. However, I feel quite comfortable in saying it's far to early to write off the .tv extension. I believe that some of the negative postings fail to consider that many .tv investors, such as myself, see positive forces at work in the marketplace and are not in a rush to part with names which we perceive to have great value and even greater potential value. Therefore we may be rejecting strong four or five figure offers on certain .tv or .co domain names. I know that I have rejected a few nice four figure offers over the last month. I don't post every time I do. The sales comps won't reflect this activity either. But I do believe that the large number of inquiry's and offers which I am receiving indicate interest in the .tv extension. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=722592 As with all investments, we are at the mercy of forces beyond our control. These are exceedingly trying times. I'm sure that many people largely invested in US T-bills are feeling uneasy in light of the debt celing crisis. Investing is risky business. But as a wise man once said, "no guts no sausage."

![]() ![]() ![]() | Http://StreamingComedy.tv may not appear to be an amazing domain name, but it is attracting hundreds of visitors every day. Finding a niche, having a plan and expending sweat play a big role. It is also said that, "He that gathereth in the harvest, is a wise son: but he that snorteth in the summer, is the son of confusion'" ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=722592 Reminds me of a saying one would hear often in Vegas, "You snooze, you loose."
