Keith. It was actually me he bought it from. I think there were many at the time who wanted this name and there was quite a scramble, but the end price was only $2700. That was the state of the market at the time. John had the belief in the name, and .TV in general, at a time when many others were starting to believe the naysayers and bail out of .tv names altogether. I was very happy with the price I received at the time and understood that John was playing a longer game with this and several other names. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/dot-tv/721992-pro-tv-sold-15-000-sedo.html When I purchased the name myself it did have some good traffic and was one of the few three-letter names that was not a premium at the time. I am very glad it came through for him and it will be nice to see the other short names he holds hitting the sales headlines over the next few months/years. Looks like the rising tide of two-letter names may have started lifting its quality three-letter cousins as well! And for all those who reduced or ended our relationship with .tv names perhaps we should take example from the many large sales that we have seen from JohnTV. Good on him. His success is down to his steadfast (and now proven) belief that the .tv extension is one readily accepted by endusers. ...and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy as anyone who has ever dealt professionally with John will agree. I hardly post any sales as I always wait till Sedo posts it themselves, also as there is a rare chance the buyer asks Sedo to keep the sale private. Thanks James (Jimbo), I really liked the name from the start, like you already mentioned $2,700 was a fair price at that moment, the market was not as good at that time as itīs now. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=721992 Like many here have noticed, dot tv is doing great lately, this sale is actually my fourth .tv sale this year so far as I also sold keb.tv for $995, gc.tv for $9,500, which was reported by Sedo as well. And just now I sold another two letter .tv name at Sedo, also for $9,500, the buyer from Russia paid today, will hopefully be reported anytime soon. Think it`s time to start asking for higher prices for these types of names, especially as it`s harder and much more expensive to buy nice, short or generic .tv names these days. Good luck to anyone here and hope we will see more and higher .tv sales this year! |
