What do you look for in .tv?

I see that a lot of .tv domains are taken, but only in their singular form and a lot cannot even be sold for registration fee...

What do you look for in .tv names personally?

(I have a couple in mind and just want to see if I am on the right track)

i recently asked which was better , cars or car , many different responses

also if you are looking to develope you may just need to go with your vision of what a .tv site should be , i think personal choice to be honest, although leaning towards singular

I am not really looking to develop just yet, mostly just find something that could be worth some money to someone lol

With .com, .uk and the rest this is reasonably easy for me since I can see with the search volume and commercial potential how something may be worth, with .tv though it is a mystery as there is no population in Tuvalu to speak of and all the major keywords are long gone...

.tv is not meant for the population of Tuvalu. Instead, it is regarded as a video-centric extension. It is always the perception of people (market) that counts, otherwise .net should have been more popular than .com.

if you are browsing the enom premium list, these are names that have been available since march 18, 2010

So it's up to you if you want to take a gamble purchasing a name that looks good for resell.

don't get me wrong, someone here purchased product.tv and products.tv and resold them on for 9k during the Sedo PRODUCT domain auction. I even thought about doing the same, but did not know if sedo would accept them

if you need any help, message

Jason

I don't believe they met the reserve. The bidding was rather odd. Perhaps someone could *confirm* the sale.

With any registration one has to assume that it won't sell for at least a few years. Thus, for .TV one has to be much stricter on regs as the investment will be far greater for a portfolio of __ .TV domains than __ .Net or .COM domains caught on the drop. The primary difference is that the keywords available in .COM and even .Net are far inferior to those available in .TV. I see many .TV drops (short brandables and low-search volume) that I would register in .COM but because I try to be strict about my .TV acquisitions I avoid in .TV. The competition for drops has increased considerably in recent months but there are still better drops in .TV than .COM. I hardly even look at .COM drops other than those with backorders as it just isn't worth the time - actually most .COM drops with backorders are worthless as well.

Some people like to cut themselves for the thrill of pain, I buy .TVs instead.
