Sedo parking vs Landing page vs Minisite

Hi,

I have a question for all of you guys.

Almost all my domains are parked at Sedo. Some of them got traffic, there is some revenue.
I’m not looking for revenue for now, the main idea why I’m park domains with Sedo is because when somebody will come to my parked page he will see the link “Domain is for sale”, he would be able to see the traffic info, also he would see was there any offers on this domain (I think if domain has some offers at Sedo – it can have some influence on the potential buyer) and finally that “somebody” could make me an offer via Sedo (solid company).
This is how I’m doing.

Other option: Landing page with link “Domain is for sale”
In my opinion this is not a great idea.

Pluses:
- you can make professional, beautiful landing page (maybe it have some influence on potential buyer)

Minuses:
- potential buyer don’t see traffic stats
- don’t know about any previous offers
- don’t see Sedo

Next option: Minisite

Pluses:
- some revenue (if there is)

Minuses:
- potential buyer may think that this is developed project and the owner won’t sell it
- potential buyer don’t see traffic stats (if there is no counter)
- don’t know about any previous offers
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/dot-tv/650862-sedo-parking-vs-landing-page-vs.html
- don’t see Sedo

It would be great to hear your thoughts.

Thanks, Nick

P.S. I’m interested also – does somebody of you use Amazon affiliate programs? If yes – is it good?

My experience shows that if you want to resell a domain then sedo is one of the best options available. Mini sites dont worth the money because they wont get any important revenue not will traffic increase because Google knows what a mini site is. Last but not least when someone types in your domain and sees a website(mini or not) he probably wont make any further contact but he ll try to find another related domain.
Custom parking pages are not so attractive as well, I may use them only when I m thinking to develop the domain or I m afraid of TM issues. In both cases I never show the "its for sale" link.

Thanks Makis for the input!
I see we have similar positions.
Yes Sedo is well known and simply the best service IMO, very popular in Europe.
As I saw in German forums, they very often use Sedo for every transaction, even small ones.
I’m using landing pages also if I’m afraid of TM problems, but with information that domain is for sale.

I have read of several domainers having success with landing pages. With .TV domains what traffic stats are you going to have anyway? The only time you have to worry about traffic stats are when selling to other domainers or perhaps for really high-end sales. Even for my CarroYa.com sale they didn't ask for traffic stats - they just wanted the name because it was short and brandable.

Thanks garptrader for your opinion.

Some of my clients (either at Sedo or Endusers) were asking me about traffic stats. Some of my .tv's got 15-20 uniques daily - I think this info would be a "plus" for a future owner.
BTW I had one .tv (porno realted) with 200-300 uniques daily, so no metter if it's .tv or anything else.

If you own a lot of names and you don't want to develop then stick with Sedo. If you put up a static mini site Makis is right you probably not making much unless you are going to update and stick with the site.

I've only had ComputerGames.tv in my account a few days and it already has 33 visitors. Note I have several names with nameservers forwarded to Smartname. I received my first inquiry today on a .TV via Smartname. Out of respect for the source of the inquiry I referred them to my Afternic listing even though it would be cheaper if they bought it at SEDO. We'll see if that inquiry materializes.

Hi,

I started ParkedAvenue which may be useful to you. I would actually love your feedback on what kind of platform you are actually looking for and would find worth using. I have created something useful, but I want to turn it into something VERY useful.
