Forty-Five Hours - No Sleep - How Cool Was That?

Well, like many, I've had an interesting couple of days and no sleep whatsoever!

But I've finished my efforts and before I go to bed I thought I would share a few simple thoughts...

I think two members of this forum have absolutely cleaned up. They know who they are, and their whois is all over the show as evidence of their diligence and hard work. Well done to them both and to the many tens, and actually now hundreds, of people who have tried to make the best of the past hours events. I hope you all got some pretty digital land on which to build your dreams.

I think Dynadot (and I think Name.com? reading other threads) need a good F@@king kicking for their shoddy adoption of the new .TV scenery. At one point I was being told by one registrar that a name was reg fee, while another was telling me VERY different. However, I think all the returning/stealing/grace deleting of names has now finished and was certainly not the work of enom.

I think the next move we will see is the reduction in regular pricing for .TV (indeed, I actually bought some of my new names at £4.99 each, something old, and now largely irrelevant, Bob Thingy from GoDaddy never matched in his heyday as a .TV lover).

When the 'dust settles' as one member here likes to point out, we will truly see a different environment to the one we had before. I think everyone realises things have changed and there will be much to do and consider. Looking at some of the WHOis names it is obvious that some endusers have been cherry picking as well and that can only be good for the next stage.

Among out new considerations will be the renewals on high-priced 'old-style' premiums. Some solution will need to be sought.

In my little world I have at least one name I will be happy to put my developing hat on straight away but first I have to get some sleep and then make up to my wife and family for disappearing so abruptly on Thursday and changing everyone's plans.

Oh, if you are reading this after being a week away...

Welcome to the new world of .TV - it's slightly more interesting than before.

Jimbo,

Why not have fun with your wife tonight and get another night with no sleep

I am in the "dog house" with my wife, maybe I can sell England.tv for a good profit and get some love back Maybe, I might need to buy Divorce.tv if not

It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out after the Sedo auctions beginning on April 1st ... if you can share any information about which End users have been cherry picking of late, I'm sure that would be of great interest as well, IMHO.

Good Luck with your ".TV" domains & plans, and get some sleep!
Best regards,
Jeff

I've probably clocked in about 3 hours researching possible regs. I did come late to the game though. Get some rest my friend.

After hunting through premium .TV lists to see if the pros left a few tablescraps for us mere mortals I decided to check the .COM backorders at Namejet & Snapnames - what a disappointment

At least I have two .COM sales in process to pay for today's mini shopping spree.

Good to know we're on the same page regarding this.

I think it was more a technical glitch than evil intent that caused the confusion in any case.

I think the entire landscape of domaining has changed as of yesterday.

I was starting to write a long post but kept messing it up.
I am tired too.

It was all well worth it, and I am very happy to have been part of it.
It's not over. It has only just begun.

Very Nice Post Jimbo!

P.S. - .tv is the new .net!

Well it was funny time. The most stupid thing was that I've got that GoldRush list in the early afternoon (in my time zone) and I just checked it and did nothing! I was on my day job, than go out, after went home, loged on to NP and what I see: people are registering names at other registrars! The funniest thing is that the list left on my office PC One NP member helped me (thank you Makis ) and sent me the list and for 3 hours or so I had "sexual relationship" with my touch pad at notebook (mouse was broken
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=645817
In result I've got 20+ nice names, 30% of them are non-english (I was mainly looking for them). It was GoldRush.
