![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hulls - Hope all is well. Thanks for bringing that to our attention. .TV - If that renewal price is correct then I think they will be inundated. That would save me personally over $4000 in the next six months!!!!!!!! At these prices I might bite - but before I get stuck in - has anyone here got any info on this company - or dealt with them in any way?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So the first trouble with DM that I've found is that they require authcodes for .tv. Unfortunately since .tv does not actually require authcodes not every registrar provides them. Dynadot does not appear to. Not only that but DM also has their system setup so that each code must be entered individually during the email confirmation process which makes transfers rather tedious. Or would if I could actually get a code to begin with. I know I can from Moniker but I'm not sure I want to hastle with the whole thing especially with an unproven registrar. Who's to say these guys wont go belly up in a short while? Or what if they decide to impose a fee for transfering out?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Totally wrong. Dynadot and almost every major registrar including Moniker, GoDaddy, Name.com etc. provide Auth Codes for .TV names. Auth code for a .TV name at Dynadot ![]() At every registrar, the transfer authorization system is always set up in a manner that it requires the current owner to provide the auth codes for every name individually, which is again a common practice followed by every registrar, but a few registrars directly accept multiple domain names and their auth codes during the initial transfer request phase. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=605891 DM is a division of MeshDigital. In late 2006, Mesh founded Domainmonster.com, rapidly growing to become one of only 13 officially accredited ICANN accredited registrars in the UK. Mesh was founded in 2003, developing software products to innovate an aging marketing and media industry. Their client list is vast which includes international brands such as Atari, Ubisoft and Warner Music, to name only a few. Mesh Digital is located 30 minutes from Central London, in Guildford, Surrey.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Not "totally wrong". ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=605891 I suppose if one's outlook is for a quick flip then it doesnt matter where the names are housed but if your objective is more future oriented then it probably should. I will say that I tend to value domains at unfamiliar registrars less than I do at registrars I'm familiar with. So the 5 bucks one saves on a renewal fee might not be worth it in the end if it is indeed eyeing the quick flip. The fact is that authcodes are still not a registry requirement to transfer a .tv domain. I've done hundreds of them without. Try it sometime. I see now where Dynadot does provide authcode - only *after* a name is unlocked and one goes into each domains control panel. Moniker at least provides authcodes in bulk. I'll give Monte a bit of credit for that. And one still has to go into DM and enter each code one at a time for each name to be transfered in AND only after responding to a confirmation email individually. I dont know what your time is worth to you but the time it takes me to do this adds up to at least a dollar or 2 per name. It would be so much easier if they allowed bulk entry of both codes AND bulk confirmation. Has anyone transfered out a name at DM? Some sketchy registrars do in fact charge a fee for releasing a name. I looked over their site and still dont understand what exactly "mesh cards" are if they are anything more than fancy b-cards. Just because a company once printed up some stuff for a big client doesnt mean they themselves are worth doing business with. One can dress up a hog in silk stockings but its still a hog.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Every registrar has its own merits and demerits. I hate Dynadot & ETPs because they don't allow transferring expired names, but a few registrars including GD allow transferring expired names. It doesn't mean ETPs and Dynadot are worst. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=605891 It's simple. In my personal experience, DM's support system is very good and the services they offer at this industry lowest price is unbeatable. I transferred about 20 expired .TV names from GD to DM in a matter of just 10 minutes. I agree that currently they do not have a bulk transfer interface where we can specify multiple domains and their auth codes. Instead of complaining about that unavailable functionality, you could try contacting them and suggest them to add that feature. Registrars often update their websites with new features, and they always listen to suggestions for improvements and additional functionality. Auth codes are very common, and it adds an extra level of security for our names from unauthorized transfers. At the current trend, if a registrar is NOT asking for an auth code during a transfer process, it should be considered as a risky option, IMO.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=605891 Glad to hear you've received good service. Thats a good sign. Personally I like to have a direct relationship with the top management of any registrar I deal with. And I do with most. Doesn't always happen (Bob Parsons has frequently snubbed my overtures - f' him.) but I feel better when I know I can call the top dog directly whenever there's a real problem that needs addressing. Take it from me, registrars do not "always" listen to suggestions. Just the ones that want to succeed.
