Great News - the BBC just leveled the UK playing field

The BBC bosses have made a wonderful decision today - they have decided against launching their local micro-sites across the UK after sharp criticism from politicians and local based media companies that they would kill any competition.

Anyone with a local geo name in the UK just got a whole lot wealthier today.

Any ALL local geo developers can go ahead knowing the competition is fair and even - not funded by the taxpayer.

Those outside of the UK who think this doesn't affect them should realise that the fear of BBC micro-sites has stifled many local based media companies desire to create local channels. Now this fear has gone a whole wave of new channels and expertise should be unleashed.

And when a wave of talent and creativity is unleashed in one country - it's best bits tend to get duplicated everywhere else.
