Not sure if this was discussed but I know for a while it was parked and owntv.tv went to Oprah, now we have own.tv pointing to Oprah...

Nice info!

This one sold by another NP member for only a few hundred at Sedo auction earlier this year, but gladly for him the bidder never paid. After that it was sold again for $9,000, a very nice sale for this $1k renewal. Wonder what Oprah paid for it.

Hope she will develop it and, more important, mentions it a lot at her shows!!

I think she couldnt get the .com or maybe the .tv was her first preference but this will be big I think. Search own oprah and it does seem like it will be a pretty big site.

Well see when she announced Own TV they originally had OwnTV.TV pointing to her web site, now it points to Discovery Channel who she is partnering with.

This is an incredibly important moment for .tv if the channel goes live and they go through with the .tv branding of the channel.

This is huge! You can be sure of one thing, if Oprah has a TV domain everyone will want one.

Expect some big offers for some dot TV names in the next six months.

You may be right, but seeing that the named was registered in May of 2007, Discovery Communications may have had plans for this particular extension and seem to be on track with it.

I would like to know if they "own" anymore .tv domain names.

Yeah right. The .tv extension already has a fair degree of usage with tv networks. Little doubt it would help if she did promote a .tv but I don't see it having a major difference.

You been saying much the same thing for two years now though. In that time I've told people to avoid .tv like the plague, and you told people the the extension was just about to boom. I guess at some point a tally needs to be taken about what did actually happen,

Because you wish a pox upon this particular extension does not mean that it will happen.
