| Your Showbiz Connection | I would take it myself as I dont' see a huge dev angle that would interest me much. That is just my opinion.

| Domain Goddess | when i got into .tv- the very first name i tried to reg was invite.tv- not kidding- i saw it as an incredible site as the next step in invitations. i get email invites for everything these days- little cute animated cards and stuff- but letting people upload video invites- i thought that was as cool as can be- and still do

A televisual invite backed with printed info would be a FAB site and I'm sure would be extremely popular. Could you imagine the size of the market if wedding invites went out which were mini-bios of the couple? Even small things like directions to a kids party could be filmed from a car so people could see the route. The options are endless. Even invites for a date, a valentines meal, a family get together. You name the event - this name could cater. Sell it for $1000 - no way. Get it developed - and quick - or pass it over to a company who can do something with it for a share of the profits.

| Senior Member | like jimbos idea...sell cheaply and take part in future profits but this is more complex, paper work but could be a worth while route to take.. dont sell at 1-3k but everyone is saying do so...so i am the odd ball i guess lol

In domaining nothing is certain, even after you have made an agreement. The one thing that can fluctuate the most is value, a domain can have inherent value to one person and none to the next. You should take into account the plain fact that if you received a $20k offer for a domain, you may never get another offer on it again. Just because you have had a $1000 dollar offer does that mean I would give you $100 for it... Not likely, I would not even give you $50 because it holds no value to me except the fact that maybe I might get lucky selling to whoever gave you the original offer. IMO this name is not obviously worth money to all investors. Its appeal is limited to those with solid development plans making the possibility of higher $XXXX offers less likely. if you negotiate and they come back with thte same offer I would take it personally. I wish you the best of luck, I hope you get the price you are looking for

| Miembro Especial | I tend to agree that you should take the money unless you plan to develop. Hopefully the offer is legitimate since many offers I receive come from people just feeling me out and using anonymous email accounts. The chances of getting a $xx,xxx offer in the future are slim. IMO.

Unless you have other ideas which you would like to move into with the cash, or could use the money - why sell it? If you want to sell it, i'm sure there are people right here on this thread who might be willing to buy it from you. Thanks

| Senior Member | i say hold for better price...but the proplem is ! with so many dot tv domainers selling there name cheap or happy to push to sedo for $60....it does not help the value of your name.

Namepros is a bargain basement when it comes to .tv's... The prices in the marketplace don't reflect the true purchase possibilities.

| NamePros Regular | Thanks for all the comments. I would probably take an offer at the mid 4-figs or above, but I have turned down the initial offer and proposed a counter in my desired range. ATM, I am still waiting to hear back. I feel this name has such potential, is a non-premiuim retc etc, recent .com of the related name sold for xxxxxxxx--I think mid-to high 4-figs is definitely withing the realm of possibilities. 5 figs to an end-user with solid dev plans/capital |

| NamePros Regular | It's interesting to see the disparity of opions here - LOL. Some say take the money and run, others suggest waiting it out... Anyway, I am comfortable waiting for a 'better offer' at this point. I have had quite a bit of interest in this domain and this offer, I feel, is only the beginning (it's NOT the first offer, but is the highest so far). I am willing to wait 10 years if that's what it takes. Imagine if .tv gains even more popularity than it has right now - I think 'invite.tv' could possibly someday go for 5 figs!! One last note: Several years ago I had 2 3-letter .com domains and I often posted them for sale requesting what many people thought were 'outrageous' prices. I had MANY, MANY offers where people on the boards said 'take the money and run' you'll never get your price etc etc. Ultimately, I was proven right and, as it turns out, it was very prudent of me to wait...I STILL probably sold to soon, but the BUYERS were even more of a visionary than I was when it came to predicting the future value of some of these domains. And it PRECISELY THAT type of buyer I am looking for for invite.tv - someone who has the forethought to realize that, hey, in 10 years this may be a 5-figure domain, let me offer that guy 5 or 6k now because that's about the absolute MINIMUM I would entertain for this domain. And that is TODAY. Next year (just like with my former .com's) I'll want more .Thank you all again for your advice and comments! |
