![]() | e-name or i-name? Hey guys: Quick question. I see domains being developed with "i" or "e" before a common name/phrase. Can you please let me know what the "i" or "e" means? ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/dot-tv/505439-e-name-or-i-name.html I am guessing that I = internet and e = electronic or something of that form? Also, what are your feelings on these domains? In the end it matters on how any domain is developed, but lets say one has a great idea for a domain, but the word itself is take, however, you can slap an e or i on the front and it is available. Thoughts on this? Gunnar www.NetworkGlobal.tv www.Broadway.tv www.OZtralia.tv www.MyVirtu.com www.BMI.tv www.BodyArchitect.tv |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think "I"s and "E"s in front are perfectly fine in regards to hosting developed sites. In my experience, content is king. The domain name is secondary and should indeed be creative. ( But hyphens should be avoided, as should naming a daughter Fanny. )

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't think there is anything wrong with a hyphen. Now when we make it plural and start talking about multiple hyphens in a domain I think I would change my answer. I've always been a bigger fan of the E and not the I...I does not neccessarily always mean "internet"..I'm not sure where the apple crew was going with Iphone but I don't think it was internet. Aside from that, I think E has always associated with the internet. eGreetings, eHarmoney, eBid, eHam..you get the picture. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Good points above... There is nothing wrong with hyphenated domains but they should be avoided, especially when registering Third-World Country TLDs, and even more especially when the non-hyphenated version is available. Word of mouth plays an important role in traffic growth and telling your buddy about your favoritesite.tv is a lot easier than telling him about your favorite-site.tv. ![]()
