Lancashire.TV sold on SEDO

For those familiar with the Wars of the Roses

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wars_of_the_Roses

they may be interested to know that a similar battle was fought tonight between two similar parties (white rose knight and red rose knight) and the outcome is that
Lancashire.TV (the English historical county that holds Manchester, Liverpool and Lancaster) was sold for a four figure sum.

Well done Kam on a great sale!

For those who are interested I must admit it was I that took the name.

Lancashire is only 1.4 million people in its present political state, but the cities of Manchester (2.6 million) and Liverpool (1.2 million), which have their OWN political areas are all part of the historic county (indeed Lancashire Cricket Club is based in Manchester and has a ground near Liverpool. This means the number of people who come from the historic county and count themselves to be a citizen of Lancashire at over 5.2 million. A population similar to Scotland and second only to London in the UK.

I spent much of my childhood in Lancashire (as did a couple of members here) and know how fiercely independent the people of this county are. I hope to develop Lancashire.TV to highlight its fabulous people, talent, and energy. Hey, did you know its whether the first atom was split, Mr Rolls met Mr Royce, the Beatles, Oasis and Take That came from, Premiership clubs Man United, Liverpool, Everton, Blackburn, WIgan, MAnchesterCity and Bolton come from (that's over one-third of the WHOLE league), and a million and one other REAlly cool things happened in history AND for the future.

I waited a LONG time for this one to come up - and thanks and congratulations to Kam for yet another good sale. Where does he keep getting these ACE names from?

I'm also pleased to announce that I already had LancashireTV.com just in case I lost the auction.

Thanks to the other bidder - who although he ran me up silly - put on a valiant fight.

Next time anyone's going for a geo - please let me know first. Perhaps then we won't bid each other into next week and beyond.

I'm very happy - even my legal guy (who is himself from Lancashire) who I had to talk to today for other matters, was impressed - and when was the last time anyone impressed a lawyer?

Sometimes I LOVE what we do. I now have the chance to do something useful in a place I genuinely feel affection for.

Now all I have to get is Scotland.TV, Shropshire.Tv, London.Tv, Denver.TV, and Niedersachsen.TV and my life is complete. Can anyone help?
