Thinking of buying my first premium..is it worth it?
Having received the profit of my very first .tv sale I'm looking to invest right back into the .tv market and I'm thinking of buying myself an LLL.tv. I have 2 in mind that are actual words, and 1 that is an acronym of something I think is gaining popularity, but I'm wondering if the LLL.tv market is worth it?
It's not everyday (ok, hardly ever) that I can spend a couple hundred $ on a domain and I want to make a good choice!
.tv and premiums in general don't expect to get much type-in traffic. If you are buying to hold and sell don't expect to profit that way within 2 years even though you can. Therefore, if you have development in mind that makes sense I feel it can be worth it.
There are some really good premiums that are going to drop within the next couple of months that you can pick up some good deals on. For example, I just picked up Ladies.tv for $220 at Sedo auction and $250 premium renewal. Keep an eye out at Sedo, Tdam.com, and Ahead.tv for good .tv names and look at what people are selling on NamePros.com as well. Don't get suck in what Demand Media premium mark-ups. Some of my best premiums are $250 a year, and I own about 50 premiums. Good luck.
Thanks, Jim. I appreciate your response I'm going to take a look around like you suggest and see what is all out there. No need to rush into anything I might later regret and I think .tv is here to stay for a good long while
Thanks everyone I've placed a bid for a SWEET name at Sedo, and if I'm really lucky it will end still in my price range. If I don't win at Sedo I've got (what I think) is a great LLL.com (word) in mind to reg.
Sounds like you have your mind made up. Anyways i would just like to put my 2 cents in real quick. To be 100% honest with you i would not invest in a premium unless i have plans for development and can make back that reg fee within the year. If you are investing in the LLL.tv market just to speculate i think you have stepped on thin ice. There are countless .tv premiums that drop everyday. Those were prolly regged in the hopes of a resell. The aftermarket for .tv premiums is not as hot as everyone thinks but it is getting there.
Just think about it, there are plenty of LLL.tv left and they go for $500 a pop. Plus countless ones drop all the time. Not to mention there are LL.tv left and those go for $1000 a pop. It would take a ton of money to reg all of those. On top of that to keep these regged year after year would break you before you could make a profit.
Just make sure you have more than one way out if plans dont go as planned.
Yes, unless you are going to buy existent brand.
I'm not talking about BBC , but just ZXQ for example or anything else
which have no meaning either for .COM or any other extention.
Unless it's existent brand , which you have no right to purchase at all,
LLL.tv is a useless investment.
I saw all the LLL.com sales reseller to reseller about 6 months ago for the
12-14K , where are they now ??
Why put your money on some ZXQ.tv and not to buy City.tv even small one ?
Thats' my vision and again, we are talking .TV here which has very little
generic traffic yet.
