Top 40 .TV Sales of all time
Do any of you seasoned domainers have a quick list of the top 5 .TV domain sales of all time?
Also, are any of these top 5 sales generated in the last 12 months?
I firmly believe whatever the top 5 sales are, that we are going to crack into this top 5 in 2008 and most likely have a new record sale no later than the
close of 2009.

You are faster than a NY minute!
I really think it is possible to crack a sale above the 100K figure before 2008 is out.
I think one key is to find an end user on an accelerated growth path.
This can include a geo-domain with a little luck.
Or an EU overseas looking to protect their .COM
On an apples to oranges comparison, I think of topix.com as one example.
The co had .NET, but realized they were losing biz to .COM
For it to be a .TV sale, we would really need a service industry with video technology to explode and gain acceptance on the net.

Thanks in list. Some nice names and that FreePorn.tv is my favorite based on price and sold way to cheaply!
jeff working to many hours and had to edit and my blackberry reading was in full today, lol.
i think we will see a xxx,xxx sale within 18 months from now

Well, first of all--I agree. I think we will see another 6 figure sale in 2008. I think we will start to see more and more xx,xxx sales this year. Within 24 months there will be a x,xxx, xxx sale IMHO.
I think the Prime Geo market and the pure generics that relate to video/TV will skyrocket in late 2008 and into 2009.
The sleeper for 2009: CityRealEstate.TV's and CityHomes.TV's...These are short, sweet and keyword-rich and the values will triple before you know it as more brokers/realtors move online and into the domain game.
(IMO)
ps: It is on the list!

We already did earlier this year... homes.tv sold for six figures. I received confirmation from the seller. Trying to get the exact sales price for everyone...
The name is now a $100/yr premium, but was reduced by the previous owner coughing up some cash to knock it down that far. Exact amount unknown.
Regards,
RL

Roy,
That's excellent news. I would be curious to know if it went for more than Property.tv.
Best,

I think the next big 2 names will be porn.tv and porno.tv. Both names for 225k. Forgot what the owner told me a few months back. But was in this area.

One that's not on there which I sold Feb last year was DVD.tv for $15,000. A site is on it now in fact.

How many of these are
developed , stand-alone .TV websites ... that are now being promoted to the masses? IYHO's.
^ Answer to that, in my judgement, will help to gauge future .TV sales amounts and timelines (to End users who will also develop)!
Just my two sense.

Wow I'm amazed on the two word .tv names that sold so high. The blueray one is actually a typo as well (bluray or blu-ray is correct)

I thought you were asking how many of the top sales were developed sites? Am I missing something Jeff?
As far as end users go I know auctionnetwork was an end user. I haven't researched this out and I am mobi now. You can always check out each name in the URL and see if there developed. Then check out domaintools.com and see who owns the sites.

I wonder what the prem renewals were for all these names? I am sure we can see some $xxx, xxx sales this year if renewals were reasonable.
Thanks, Jim

To my surprise they didn´t fight for the name (they have the TM). Was it a hurry sale? Something huge is going to happen with the TV and internet this summer in Mexico.
Lucky domainer that got the xx,xxx violating the domaining rules (register TM).

No, you're not missing anything...that's just the way he is. He thinks he's making a stronger case for something by making
you do all the work to support his implications.
