If it were $15,000 I'd be blown away, but $1,500 seems reasonable for someone wanting to showcase videos of sportsfishing.

Not really sure how the last two posts relates to Sportfishing.tv

www.sportfishingtelevision.com This is what IMO a lot of .tv owners would like to be doing with their top tv and television domains.

Sportfishing competitions air on Versus and Espn The bass pro championship awards the winner a large cash prize not sure if it was 1/2 million or $1 million.

Sport fishing?

imo is a rubbish name, fishing.tv yes, or even carpfishing.tv.flyfishing.tv etc, but we know fishing is a sport, it doesnt need to be in front of the name.

its like saying musichiphop it makes no sense

Just my opinion

Not true. There is Commercial Fishing, Recreational Fishing, Sport Fishing, and other types of fishing. Each has it's own audience.

So only certain types of fishing is a sport, ? it is either a sport or its not.

Its like saying when i play football on a Sunday its not a sport but when Man Utd play then it is,, if its a sport its a sport no matter what variation of it you do.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/dot-tv/450427-got-to-be-a-joke.html

Sales and Economic Trends
Recreational fishing is big business, generating more than $125 billion in economic output and more than one million American jobs. If sportfishing were a corporation, it would rank above Bank of America or IBM on the Fortune 500 list of largest American companies. The economic contributions of recreational fishing have grown steadily over the last several decades.

This section quantifies the dollars spent by anglers and the resulting economic impacts. Details are provided for freshwater fishing, Great Lakes fishing and saltwater fishing and also by state. In this section are indices reporting recent and historical tackle sales and import trends.

One of the things to keep in mind is that understanding how surfers are going to look for a site like yours is just as important as how you THINK they should be looking.

If 'sport fishing' is an accepted, common term within the industry, then that's probably the type of domain they will easily identify with.

Maybe not, but Fishing is a sport and they are still fishing. albeit for different reasons, it boils down to how do you define a sport?.

I have had a similiar debate with my mate, i argued that fishing should not even be classed as a sport.

However i took this from wiki and it would appear it is,

The term fishing is not usually applied to pursuing aquatic mammals such as whales, where the term "whaling" is more appropriate, or to commercial fish farming. Fishing is an ancient and worldwide practice with various techniques and traditions and it has been transformed by modern technological developments. In addition to providing food through harvesting fish, modern fishing is both a recreational and professional sport.

Regardless of opinions, the term "sport fishing" in quotes yields 2,310,000 results in Google. But does this term get searched? I'll let KeywordDiscovery answer that...

Winner
Rookie .TV Domainer of the Year 2007

Listen, I live in Hawaii. I can tell you for sure that any coastal community in the USA as a vested interest in "sport fishing" Not to mention all of the Inland communities that have lakes and rivers. In places like the Midwest, like Colorado for example ( I lived there for 4 years) that have all 4 seasons, they salivate wating for fishing season. fishing is an all american pastime that you even have to get a license to fish in most places. it is extremely popular and well televised, I see too many bass or fly fishing programs on ESPN and TV.

I can easily see $1500 especially if you own a sport fishing business.

Fishing is the #1 sport (or recreational activity) as counted by the % of population that participate in it down here. As well, there are many many fishing shows on tv.

The term "sport fishing" is a very well known and used term as there are many different sorts of competitions happening all over the country (basically who's got the biggest - don't delete EQ caus its true!).

I have no prob with $1500 for the domain either.

Wow, it appears sticking a hook in the mouth of an unsuspecting fish is more popular than i thought.

Maybe it is worth the money then, but i still think the term sportfishing sounds shit.

I am off now to play sportgolf

Out of interest , i would be interested to know what anyone thinks it may end up going for?
