Voted the last option, although it's mainly as I invested a lot in .tv (and some LLL.com as well, to spread the risk a bit), so yes, I'm way into red, but happy with it, at least so far
The last option is the only one that really applies to me as i have bought about 20 .tv's and not sold any (not wanting to sell for a long time)
So i am in red but now worried about it at all as .tv is my long term investment. I have maybe spent about $12,000 it total on regging & aftermarket buts so it is not a massive risk to take, i cant see me losing even if i had to sell all my .tv's right now.

IF you don't like .TV's then why spend all day on the .TV forum??
i dont domain my portfolio by extension- so technically i am not in the red- i have a ton of tvs, but when fees are due i sell other names in my portfolio to carry them, coms, nets, ect.. i work my portfolio as a whole

I don't like to check. That way I can think I am in the black, but most likely in the red! Honestly, with .tv (Uv.tv sold $4355) definately in the black!
Appraising my .tv portfolio circa 20% will be dropped come renewal .. it was a new extn for me and a learning curve .. I will be happy with the keepers that we will be developing out over time ..its amazing if you look around just what can be achieved with a great name .. and to some extent the extn does not matter .. but if it is/ can be oriented towards the growth in online video consumption then .tv has to be the one for you .. and you can build your site round that genre and generate a revenue model that complements the content ..be that affiliate, interstitial advertising, or ppc feeds on your site you are onto a winner

Have made quiet a bit in profit, but did put a lot of money into the extension.
Selling Alcohol.tv for $7500.00 was nice and of courser selling Paraguay.tv, Norway.tv for about $4500.00 each also was nice ROI. Plus a few auctions that went well and lets not forget the .26 I made on the advertising with my me.tv channels! Go Bloopers.tv!!
Also have turned down several $5k + offers on names like Netherlands.tv, Peru.tv and Uruguay.tv So it could have been more, but I am patient.
The year 2008 will see development of a bunch of my .tv's through my company qoof.com. Will be starting with 2 of them in first quarter and will keep the board posted.
I was the first person to vote for option 4 (loss up to $3,000). I've paid over a grand on registration and renewal fees since 2005 and have not sold any despite receiving several offers.
I am in the red as a whole this year but I am ok with this. In this game for the long haul and do the ppc parking, mobi names, country codes, .tv and com and nets.
I post here and there on some things and really not eager to sell my .tv names and mobi ones unless price feels right even in this soft market.
Next year should be the fun year for me. Development on a site, parking names being progressed and .tv and mobi names will go up.
Way I see it, come tax time and tons of write offs, business expenses and other stuff I should get a nice check and that will help.
I am in the kiddy pool compard to the geo players here. One name they can unload very easily and be in for a profit this year probably.
I am sitting back and not losing sleep on my loss this year. If I attempted to sell my good ones, I would be way up. That's in 5 years lol
I have about 20 .tvs - all of them non- premium.
I sold one of them about 6 months ago for $1500
So I guess I am in black for now. about 80% of my .tvs will be developed at some point - so even if I hadn;t made that sale - I wouldnt consider myself in the red.

I perhaps should have put another option in - profit exceeding 10k as someone suggested. This has just been a hobby for me and I have made 4500. But there are some on here who have made alot I think. These guys managed to get some great names early on. I came relatively late to dot tv.
Frankly, I don't want to think short term like this. I have invested money in domains that I intend to hold for forty or fifty years, or until someone comes along and offers money for a domain that I can part with.
It goes back to what, exactly your business model is. Are you a flipper, or a PPC person, a developer, etc.
Now, in forty or fifty years if I have not made any progress, lol, I'll admit to being either in the red or black!
FYI, I've sold a number of .TV domains this year, in the xx-x,xxx range.
