RSS Media for Parked Pages

It looks like RSS Media is really taking off. I've been looking at purchasing a couple of scripts for evaluation.

Basically, you take a PHP script and it pulls RSS with video from sites like YouTube and Break.com. The video content of the website is updated automatically on a daily basis. This looks like a great way to provide fresh video content for parked .TV pages.

My top 4 scripts under consideration: [Updated]

1. My Video Blog

2. RSS Media Grabber

3. PHP Auto Video

4. Clip Share

You can create RSS YouTube feeds based on keyword here: Referd.info

This is Wordpress with a text RSS syndication plugin called FeedWordPress. I've contacted the publisher to inquire about adding video: MicroGuy

This could be a great way to generate revenue to cover renewal fees as we all wait for the inevitable market surge coming soon. I will report my findings after evaluating these scripts.

Hey Greg I would be very interested to hear your evaluation. The automatic video updates sounds like something I could use if it turns out to be reliable.

Yes! I do not want to limit this to parked pages. I'm going to develop two or three sites. But I've got 600 domains and only me :-)

I plan on building out YIPE.TV to function similar to this site: VIDJAR.COM

Everyone will need to adjust based on their own needs.

The only issue I have with prepopulated video scripts is that 90% of the stuff people upload is crap. It takes a human familiar with the topic to find the creme of the crop. The site that features the creme of the crop content will get repeat visits and repeat visits will become the gold standard in the future (IMHO).

Of course, if you have a site that just gets traffic, putting this up is going to make you some decent cash, but I would not want to invest the time with a prepopulated script unless I had one such domain and had no intention of further development.

Totally agree on everything said. You and I have talked at length about this and I love your approach. There are many ways to do it, but the main point is very simple, generic parking pages are dying the way of the emu.

People are used to them and are clicking away faster and faster. These days, anything that doesn't look parked is getting more attention. I am heading towards self-automated blogs, you are doing video feeds, and the other one I have seen is doing a random video site based on the yahoo api.

To me, the future is eye catching media. Without it, you are just another page in the maelstrom of the internet.

I'm developing vid-rss auto-update sites 'around' a player, instead of a script. At present I use the Splashcast player, on multiple sites, to incorporate video rss feeds from their catalog as well as ones I find. I set-up 'channels' and put 'shows' on the channels. Some of the shows are video rss feeds. I, however, program the 'main show'. I can put my own content (graphics, audio or video) inserts in-between shows.

"The SplashCast service enables anyone to create streaming media ‘channels’ that mix together video, music, photos, narration, text, as well as RSS feeds, PowerPoint presentations and PDF documents. These user-generated channels can be played and easily syndicated on any web site, blog, or social network page. When channel owners modify their channel, their content is automatically updated across all the web pages ‘tuned’ to that channel." [ Splashcast.net ]

I'm also interested in the scripts as I have a few rss domains I'd like to eventually turn into portals (GeoRSS.TV & VidRSS.com).

No tech. bg needed. They make it easy with 'multiple choice' programing menus. I'm able to assign content to multiple sites from the 'control panel'. The server seems to drop the audio after 30 or so vids (a couple of hours) but other than that its been the best player I've played with so far.
