![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | That's absolutely bogus you knew it was a glitch you and everyone else know there are no $10 .tv domains and secondly that online.tv had a special deal for renewals and that those $10 were not new registration fees And I have regged domains example inter.tv for $100 Verisign came back said it was not really available there was a glitch. .tv will be fine whether you own them or not And lastly people can debate or moan all they like every REGISTRAR has in their terms of service that they can take back a REGISTRATION in the first 30 days for ANY REASON

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I am wide awake Roy, I went into regging .tv domains fully aware of who owns the Company, and what their terms of service and in the 5 years I have owned .tv domains I have had nothing go against their terms of service. Clueless IMO would be people exploiting a glitch and thinking it was going to hold up when they know there is a Registration Agreement that bails out every glitch for every Registrar for the first 30 days |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | And Roy I worked for more people to get domains back in .tv then anyone I was the one who spent Christmas Eve chatting with fleaking and calling versign contacting people who know the law who told me READ THE REGISTRATION AGREEMENT. Fleaking knows I spent the whole weekend chatting with him about PETS.tv |

![]() ![]() | I dont know what all the commotion is about? I have to put in my 2 cents here... I am not sure why everybody is surprised by this. This is standard procedure for any company. All companies have a clause in there agreements that will allow them to make any changes within certain duration of time. Do you really think a multi-million dollar operation like verisign and demand media would not have there basis covered in all directions..????? To me this is just naive. I understand the frustration, but at the end of the day this company owns the rights to these names and can do what they want. End of story. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah, it sucks, but isn't surprising. Much like if Ford mistakingly printed an add for a $10 Ford Ranger. In a court of law they could very easily prove it was a mistake and not be forced to sell because of truth in advertising laws.

![]() | Cashcowdomains its unfair of you saying equity78 doesnt stand by other .TV domain owners. He has spent most of his time helping people in the .tv forum. What happened to you is not right. But, to be true did you really think you could get these names for $10 and get away, because their was a glitch in the system. Its not that they took away a domain you owned for a long time. You took the advantage of the glitch in verisign pricing systems, and they used the 'user agreement' to get it back from you. From a business point of view I think any company would have done this.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Exactly Showbiz because they know things like this can happen so they have an out built in to every registration agreement. Secondly every domainer in the world could be against this Roy, ICANN would have to make them change it and I don't know how ICANN would get it done. Every registrar would argue they need to have precautions in place to do business. |

Just because someone doesnt see what you see does it make them less smarter than what you are. Does it ?

![]() ![]() | But at least you expect competence. This should never have happened. Proper systems should have been in place to prevent these names from becoming available at $10 premiums, especially since they apparently made these mistakes earlier. BTW all of these names were premium names (if you checked the records they showed premium price at $10); not non-premiums as suggested at the beginning of the thread. There seems to be better systems in place to capture good expiring non-premiums which get converted to premiums when re-released. |

![]() ![]() | Listen.... I understand your frustration... but your missing the point totally... ALL COMPANIES RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ADJUST, MAKE CHANGES, ETC, ETC... TO THERE PRODUCTS. What do you not get about that...?? What your trying to do is capitalize on a clerical error. In any business this can happen and you wouldnt have a leg to stand on. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=340732 E.G. - You have an internet service provider, and they miss billing you for 7 months due to a clerical error. Does this mean you get the 7 months for free..??? NO... you will be billed and have to pay it back because they have a clause that says if this was to happen you would still be responsible.. I know your pissed off because you that you had WON THE LOTTERY by capitalizing on a mistake... but the mistake was done by you. Sorry you cant see that. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You make an excellent point Vimal it was not like you who own energy.tv and paid for it over 30 days ago had the domain taken away from you because Exxon called Verisign and said they wanted it. That would result IMO in a major problem and exodus for the .tv extension. This was a glitch everyone here knows you cannot reg any .tv for $10 let alone premium domains |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | THE WHOLE POINT IS: IT IS TIME FOR CHANGE. REGISTRATION AGREEMENTS MUST BE MODIFIED TO PROTECT DOMAINERS. pets.tv is a good example of why. don't you think? not just my personal incident. there are numerous others unfortunately. Thank you. CCD |

![]() ![]() | Your still missing the point.. I agree that this glitch SHOULD NOT have happened.. BUT it did... and Verisign has an agreement that backs this no matter what. At the end of the day you thought you reg'd a bunch of premium names at $10 each and you thought WOOO!! what a score.. and now that they are being taken back you are pissed.. and I understand that.. but you are not getting the business side of it.. no matter how much of a shaft it seems.. you dont have anything to back you. Legally. |
