Just sold bicycle.tv for $2000.00 - Lets fill up DNJournal!!
I just sold bicycle.tv for $2000.00. The wire transfer confirmation should be coming in a couple of hours and I will announce the name.
I saw that Ankara.tv went for $1500.00. Lets see if we can get a few more of these $1000.00 plus .tv sales to make an impact on DNJournal again. The more large sales we post the more the "mainstream" domainers can't ignore us!!
Congrats on the sale, look forward to hearing what the name was.
Can you tell us whether it was an end user or fellow Np'er?
And if how they made contact ie whois, ,sedo ,forum etc.
I voted yes by the way,

Good job mate! The more publicity the better! I can't wait till the Baseball playoffs when mlb truely start marketing MLB.tv with recent sales continuing and traditional television exposure, this is going to be a great summer for .tv!
You can click on the results and see it was me. I couldn't just vote yes because everyone else was.
I think the "positive impact" issue is unclear. Positive impact on what? Just because a sale reported on DNJ does not mean that it makes my portfolio or the next persons more valuable. Positive Exposure? YES, but that exposure is to domainers - not end users. I just don't see how it's a positive impact for that reason.
By the way, TNT.tv has a nice site up. I guess there isn't only a light at the end of the tunnel, but a bunch of frogs are jumping out of their respective wells and seeing more of the universe.
No it doesn't make your names more valuable, but the same can be said of any .com .net or .org sale, what it does is raise the profile of .tv and i can't understand how that can be anything but positive.
Just my opinion of course

That is Exactly what I said and is my point. Positive EXPOSURE - YES. Impact - Not so sure.
I'm not sure how a couple purchases by the same fellow TVer from other fellow TVer's within this small group IMPACTS the bigger picture. DM's agenda really has nothing to do with domainers that read DNJ.
Well, i think the impact comes in the form that dnjournal does not cater only to the domain industry to many other industries include venture capitalist who may visit the site and high net wroth individuals looking to diversify there portfolio. Fact remains not every domain investor spends there time on the boards. Seeing .tv on a major distribution site gives stronger credibility to the extension and thus impacts the extension all around. It essentially is branding the extension in the mind of all types of investors- the daily domainer and those just looking to get into the industry.
All I know is it will definately increase the amount of really bad fresh registrations. Too many newbies are going to look at dnjournal and say I can register some good .tvs too. Obviously it happens to every extension. Look at .mobi it is getting purely ridiculous.
I predict a major upswing in .tv appraisals for fresh registrations.
