Names That I Should Never Had Sold/should Have Bought
Poor J/F is being put under the spotlight recently again......but there must be more out there.......that guy recently who posted a thread entitled "weep for me"!!
Have we all been there....??? Names I should have sold , could have bought etc etc ....
What was your worst moment???
Mine was thinking about buying a particular geo during the 70% discount that would have cost me $450 for three years. Now it would cost me $9000 for three years......I had two months plus to pull the trigger, didnt do so and have regretted it ever since.
Mine was the same, a Geo with 70% off,I could have had it for $600 per year,i even had it in my basket , i had just bought Darts and i kept looking at it,but didn't go for it.
Now its $25,000 per year, D'OH!

I cant name them all! LOL Back last year I remember everyone talking about some sale on some extension called .tv.... Never looked into it.... what a shame. The only name I ever regret selling was a .com - iradiomusic.com - looks like motorola bought it from me for $150! damnit.
Back in late 06 I lost out on Crimes.tv at a tdnam auction and considering how cheaply it sold at the auction still makes me toss & turn just a little bit at night. LOL
1. Jack.tv I think smash got it. I saw it sitting there and thought about it for a couple minutes and she swooped in like a hawk and took it. Glad she made a nice profit.
2. Rear.tv forget who but somebody just hand regged it yesterday I think.
3. Sold Cape.tv for something like $100 a year ago. Didn't care for it much anyway.
4. Not really a regret but it could be. CapeCod.tv (where I live) was a premium for $500 per year. It sat there for like a week and I just kept passing on it. Now it's gone. Not too sad about it.
I feel with you Ray, especially as kids.tv went for $10,100 (a bargain) and non-premium reg fee later on...

By the way, I also regret not regging tx.tv, fl.tv, de.tv, ca.tv, norway.tv, flowers.tv and even li.tv for discount prices once I could
Or going back more... I regret not taken tv.com, casino.com and poker.com when I was a student and someone told me regging domain names might be a good idea
This last remark is still very up to date as I believe we could be in a similar situation with .tv now as with .com 12 years back.
Yeah, that was ME, with BestMusic.TV getting purchased for over $1K after it dropped, when I couldn't even give it away here at NP! I got over it...and turned around and bought SX.TV just to show them that they could have had a much better domain for the same price! (Made me feel a little better somehow, anyway...)
But I actually have a couple of other .TV sales that I regret, seeing the way the market is going in the past couple of months:
In December, I sold CurrentEvents.TV in a Sedo auction for just $80. I think it would have done much better now...
In January, I sold KidNews.TV again at Sedo auction for just $70, I think it was. It too could have done substantially better if I had held it longer, I think...
But hey, live and learn -- I won't be letting my other .TVs go quite so easily anymore...
I sold westernwear.tv to sheplers for reg fee, because I make a lot of money from them, and felt uncomfortable building an affiliate site there sending traffic to westernwear.com. I did not want to risk getting kicked out of their program. Dang, I should have kept that one!
That would be me Antonis12 I remember that time when I regged LV.tv, iV.tv and Mr.tv, each for three years and the total cost for all three was $2700 USD.
So far lucky for me I guess, I have not regretted any reg to the point that it bothers me nor do I regret any reg I have let drop and watch get picked up on the board.
What I love the most is that everyone's model is different and that is what makes for great conversation on both theory and practicality. Never regret what you do, just learn from it and there will be another time and day when it will be your day.

i got CurrentEvents.tv- but not from that auction- dont worry i will do the name proud- one of the best .tvs i know of as far as being "one with the extension"

Sounds ridiculously pathetic when it is NOT James. Do not interpreter the facts like if I had unfortunately missed the sale, no compassion or sort of please, I DID KNOW what I did in proposing Alcohol for Animations.tv, MY choice, the same when I sold dvd.tv for another precise and good reason. The fact that my two names where sold just after isn't of my concern and I do not feel any regret, business is business and if no one can predict the future it would be absurd to live frozen with some "if..." when you reg or decide not to reg, when you sell.... it is good to move ahead with some objectives, and in the particular case of Animations.tv maybe you could think that there might be for me a bigger picture behind it, it perfectly serves my development interest and that to me is 1000 times worth the current sale of Alcohol.tv. I purchased it a few weeks before the trade to use it as a tool to reach my objective and the fact that Alcohol.tv has been sold just after the trade for a very nice amount makes of this deal a success story and NOT a setback. Hope that does clear once for all this fact which in any case isn't my "worst moment" and shouldn't be used to illustrate your thread.
I regret not reging SouthAfrica.tv during the 70% off sale. It was tough making descisons and some nights I was up to 3am trying to make descisions. It was a battle between SouthAfrica.tv and Peru.tv for $600.00. I don't regret choosing Peru.tv, but I still should have took SouthAfrica.tv.
On the alcohol/animations thing I do believe animations is worth more then $7500 now and will be worth more for just the name in the future as it fits the extension perfectly.
Developed? The sky is the limit and I look forward to seeing what Argos will be doing with it!

I had already noted the following concerning your sale of Alcohol.TV in the orginal thread :
JF- If you got the name you need for development then you have won your own game.........for flipping is a one off, and development is the HOLY GRAIL that eludes most of us,,,,,,,so ANIMATIONS.TV will soon be a part of the PERMANENT .TV landscape, thats excellent news, any which way you look at it.....
So I was under no illlusion and did not feel sorry for you in the slightest. What I was trying to say was that your sale had brought an interesting subject under the spotlight - meaning some people did say they felt sorry about the sale, and i was not one of them........but it was an interesting topic nonetheless, those of us who did regret a sale or lack of buying.....
But perhaps I should not have started the thread without your permission - in that case, please forgive me....
