Several sites have popped up in recent years, but none have done an incredible job at developing their own content so that means the door is wide open with opportunity for you. You may want to conduct some market research before developing your site, inquiring with various potential site visitors to learn what they like and dislike about the various How-To sites catering to the Internet world. Take their opinions into consideration when you develop your site and make sure you have the tools and monetization strategy planned out in advance.

This is merely a personal opinion based on my limited knowledge and experience, but you you have a great domain with a lot of potential.
Recommendation: Develop a premium How-To video site and you will reap the rewards down the road with sponsored How-To videos and various advertising options. Alternatively, you could rely on user-created content and seek specific types of content from various users. I would love to partner with you with respect to automotive content. One of my sites, HSPN dot tv, offers How-To install videos. While the site is still in what I call its beta 2.0 phase, I have learned a tremendous amount about developing premium content. Rarely do user generated videos deliver the information in a clear, concise manner while still being entertaining. Keep in mind, the big $$$ sponsors are likely to throw their money at you once you have a library of How-To videos featuring their products or products they sell, which attract potential buyers. You might also want to consider reviews after the site is established and has credibility with your audience.
