Okay, first, read this tidbit from the latest DNJournal sales report:
Okay, got that? Now, please check out this thread that I started on March 9.
And now realize that I had a sales thread here at NP for that domain for a couple of weeks, at just a few bucks, then all the way down to 50 cents, until finally I had to give it away!
And guess what? I had even tried to sell BestMusic.TV at TDNAM twice, in January and February, for a minimum bid of only $10 the second time, prior to trying to sell it here.
I don't know if trsaso was the seller (I've PM'd him to ask -- and congratulations to him if so) or if he let it drop and then this was a bidding war over the expired domain, but man -- doesn't this just kill ya?
Does anyone have any info about this they can share? I'd love to know more about how this came to sell for so much!
Marketing I suppose in the key and the "Demand" is alot higher now for the information and the extension. That is great buzz. Hang with the ones you have now.
The next best investments in our generation to come is the virtual realestate!
Time to move with what you have now! Keep at it.
Get Good Buzz. Get .tv!

I can see how you must feel right now.
It's like trading stock.
Try not to get emotional attached to your investment. Sometimes the stock price will go up significantly after you sell it.
At the time you sold your domain, the demand wasn't as high as now.
I think a lot of people would've done the same.
There are hundreds of great opportunities everyday.
You will find some great ones later and make a huge chunk of a profit.
Thanks for the words of encouragement...I'm actually not as upset as I would have imagined I'd be. More just "stunned"!
Has demand really increased that much in the past 6-8 weeks? It was only March of this year that I let it go for free! If things have gotten that much better for .TV in that little time, I'm definitely not going to let my StockCar.TV go for anything but a very nice price!
Yes Demand is going up and it will continue to go up, never before has .TV had the type of money and publicity dollars behind it as it does now.
When you have that type of money being thrown around people are going to notice .TV
Forget about your loss, and focus on what you got to work with now!!! Good Luck!!! This is actually good news for all!!!!!!!!!

If Dot Com is King then Dot TV will be the Queen, and I would rather be caught making out with the Queen...
I remember your thread and my first instinct was to take Bestmusic.tv, but it was already gone!
Its really amazing what can happen in front of the right people! Its like poker you have to know when to holdem! Timing is everything and it just happened the right people were watching it at TDNAM.
Wow, that's truly unfortunate. I've always wondered how some of the domains I ended up dropping did in the expired auction wars, but was afraid to look.
Sorry you missed out on that sale, better luck with the next one is all I can wish for you!
Thanks. Yeah, I'm not sure if this makes me want to avoid looking in the future, or try harder to find out -- morbid fascination, I guess!
Honestly, I agree with you -- obviously, I guess, or I wouldn't have felt okay about giving it away! I never imagined it would sell for so much. It never got any traffic, and it always felt like one of those GoDaddy suggestions for other names related to your search (MyBestMusic, BestMusicOnline, etc., etc.).
I heard back from trsaso, who got it free from me, and it turns out he's in the same boat as me: he let it drop due to not being able to renew it (payment-type issues, apparently). He's feeling a bit down about the whole thing as well...
Yeah, that's the one thing that in a way makes me feel like there's not much I could have done differently (other than hold it and really try to find a buyer, which I didn't think it was worth doing at the time) -- it was really just dumb luck (or "dumb misfortune") that people willing to spend that much on it were looking at the right time...
