Probably.

Why?

because it's on Premium Domains we have the higher sale demand.
Well, for +80% on dot com but these TV should have some success I think.

I have been creating a list however, I don't know if anything I have found thus far is worth the registration price. Who knows, maybe I will take the jump and pick up a couple more.

Probably Not but i will be keeping an eye out for anything to change my mind.

Reasons : I have not found any premiums that really get me excited & im not sure about the whole pricing issue yet.

Its Possible

I have a couple of sales pending that may complete in time to release a slush fund to invest in a couple of premiums.

My watch list is ready and waiting. So I shall have to see if I am brave enough to step up to the plate.

This tip was provided by equity78 last night:

"you put a domain in [to] see if [it's] available then look at the address bar"

For example, do a search for xn8 and in the address bar it says 300 on the end.

This leads us to believe that the registration price for xn8.tv will be $300.

Thank again equity78!

cybertonic- what is your ratio-

if sex.com score is a 999 and sex.tv is only a 629 then your ceiling must change- what is the premium start score for coms and tvs
(ex: a .com is a premium -to you- if it has a score of 350? >higher- a tv is premium if it has a score of ??? or higher)
what is the ???

I have a little fund I am thinking of using, but I am leary of spending more then a few hundred on any single name until we see how the market starts picking up.

My thinking is that what happens if the tools they provide and current confusion over pricing at enom could do more to damage the tld then help it. What happens if people make a mad rush to buy and then start finding the price different on different enom sites. And then they call customer service and get that same top notch service we have all come to see......?

I want this to work well (and I mean that sincerely, I love TV, and for you naysayers, I picked up some aftermarket names yesterday so meh). I just have some concerns for how well enom can pull it off and am not sure I want to throw a few more grand at it before I see what they do.

That and I think the whole "this name is better so we are going to charge an arbitrary 5K for it without any true market evaluation basis" is rather asinine.

Fantastic tip

Checked it yesterday .. Thanks ... and the ones I really have my eye on I would have to sell the house or the business to invest ... so guess they are struck off my list.

We have a saying in the UK not sure if applys elsewhere but you may get the gist of it if not - here goes.

" Champagne Tastes, Lemonade income !!!! "

Guess thats me for now.. being a newbie (ish) and all.

That aside due to the fab advice ,from so many domainers willing to share and experitise available here, across the various extensions, I can see the quality . So a deserved thankyou .. to those that particpate and guide us!

I so want to own the quality names (Where will my premium single keyword .com / .tv & maybes .mobi come from?)

But the bottle to invest in it at top dollar even at some resale prices sends me fleeing ( take note.. for now! lol )

Maybes as my confidence builds .. I can summon up the courage to shell out for some.??

Untill then, the aftermarket is delivering for me at the moment. So until the slush fund is well stacked ...and a sure fire, stable, financial buffer is well established to carry these premiums for maybes a significant hold time I am watching, waiting and learning and may just take the plunge.

As I said .. Until then

I ... Guess mine's a Lemonade.. Ta (For now!)

Nah, the yearly premium price is a big deterrent plus there are still MANY std reg fee names that fit the ext/use and have high ovt & se results...

No not shopping,
In development mode,

I think if the plan is good enough then the site can be promoted and monetized in this TLD without the need for it to have a "premium" name.

Having said that if I had an open budget there are a few Id be chasing!

Budget, budget , budget!

It's a bit like the " Location, Location, Location " It's a widely used analogy for retail .. if you had the right space in the right loaction, would you? should you..? seems a big YES is where it's at.

I guess it is the same on the highstreet it surely must apply ... in the internet space..Keywords, extension of domain importantant like it not!, brandability.. may play a factor..

Its still just a high street or " Mall " is location important .. hell yeah ! ( high street is Mall ) for those none europeans! Internet or Not .. Virtual or physical in store shopping or participation....

There is sound rational in that intial statement and I am more than sure that it must also apply .. online ...?? Tell me otherwise .

Right space? right time? is there one? to follow? an emerging technology/trend at the right time.. It surely has to benefit .. tell me if I am wrong for sure..... If you land on the right space at the right time....

I am assuming that those who are going shopping on May 1st won't be chiming in until they have secured their desired premiums.

I will definitely be shopping for premiums on May 1. I was hoping to get a first refusal email but I didn't. Maybe that means that none that I am watching are $5k buy it now which is a good thing.

Isn't this the day we have been waiting for?

I'm surprised that more people are not DEFINITELY buying on May 1.

Smash,

The min score to be premium is 400 for any ext.

...

Jedi,

Thanks for tell us about the tip that equity78 found!

Now domains are VERY expensive for the few names I am trying.
It look likes more end user prices then reseller prices.

If I reg any it would be with a solid development plan in mind and probably would be a company purchase. I don't think there are any that I would reg now as an investment. I guess I am waiting to see their list of available .tv's. If it is larger then the last one www.tv had and I see a few good ones I guess I may buy a few. I do have my eye on 1 or 2 that are more then $5k, but at this point I can't see me reging them.

I am also waiting to see if there will be some sort of launch special like $25% off or if non premiums will have a launch special like $14.95/year I think I would sooner reg 20 non premium .tv's from my watch list then 1 $500.00 premium.

SearchingTV,

I am not sure it is the best strategy.

The buying demand is mainly for the best names, the premiums in the middle/high range.

At DNF I posted a thread explaining my sales trend and acquisition strategy.

Quality is better then quantity:
20 crap names continue to be crap!

With a Premium in the middle/high range you are sure to find a buyer and sell it making a good plus value.

Why not earn 100K just after having invested 5K a year ago?
It's what we have been doing a lot of times these past months...

With crap the only that may happen is that you sell few ones with a ridiculous benefice!

I will not tell you which ones but I can tell you I have located few GEMS (premium names in the VERY HIGH range) for sale under 10K May 1th!

...

The think is I already own 38 premium names and I guess it would depend on which names I still have in my buy list. I believe that the chances for me are greater that 3 or 4 from my buy list will sell for more then one of the premiums for $500.00. But then again I do have my eye on one $500.00 name that I am likely to purchase. We'll see. It will be a fun week for everyone.
