I have regged a few Japanese IDN .tvs a year or so ago, each of which had over 500,000 OVT Results.
I think IDN.tv are definately worthwhile - especially for good generic terms. Many good words such as Real Estate, Travel, etc have mostly been regged in various languages with the .tv extension, but I am sure there are still many good ones out there that are free for now.
When looking to reg IDNs, do as much checking as possible for the exact translations, using the various tools online. Regging a .tv and then finding out the translation is wrong is a lot more expensive than regging an IDN in .com or .net
Good luck
Alex

Thanks Alex... I was thinking more along the lines of languages that use the same lettering system as English - ie French, Italian, German, Spanish, etc.
I was surprised when I did some checking to see how many common words are still available - most of which without the accents etc are considered premium.
I personally do not know much about them. From the little I do know, the right picks could make the difference between making you or breaking you since you will be shelling out cold, hard cash.
It will show you how in some languages, no matter how good the keyword, .TV is not an accepted extention - and I got negative feedback on TRAFFICO.TV, based on the fact that the person appraising it was Italian and claimed that .TV is an unknown there.
Bottom line, IMHO, .TV should spread around the world given its universal recognition, its only a matter of time, so if you choose a good keyword, make sure you have five year renewal fees stashed away for it, by 2012, my guess is, .TV will be the ext for video related websites in every IDN......
I sold all my Chinese IDN last month for a deccent profit. Of course, these are really big premiums like real estatate etc. However, that is a big surprise for me that there are many IDN.tv fans there.
