Consumer Reaction to .tv extension.
Ran some tests. Running .com and .tv extension tests in parallel, I can tell you that consumers appear to like .tv better. In this test, 40% better.

Same message, testing related .com and a .tv domains. Consumer reaction to the .tv domain was superior to .com when testing whether or not the consumer would perform a desired action.

The only difference in the test was the domain name and logo.

Now to move from the lab to the production and see if the tests result hold true in the real world.

We don't make a move without testing it first. I have personally witnessed changing one word and results going up 60% because of negative reaction to a single word that appeared irrelevant to the results.

I need to run the same test with one domain where we have both the .com and .tv. This test was ABC.com vs CBA.TV

I was testing something else, but this data was too hard to ignore because we changed out one message from a .COM to .TV in another area of the business and the results 2X. I didn't even attribute that to the extension.

Call me Mad Scientist, Boob, whatever. All good.

very interesting fact to know mate, i have often wondered how the public will take to .tv as for many the internet still means _____.com for now.

I really wish you the best of luck with all your projects as the time & effort you have put into .tv must be massive, i for one have really enjoyed reading your posts hear as you think in a much more business minded manner than most here (including me of course)

When I first explained .TV to someone I was met with intrigue. Other deemed exotic extensions have never produced the same curiosity in people like .TV does. Curiosity, usefulness and brandabilty (easy to remember) will play significantly in the advancement and successfulness of the extension. The average Joe may be intimidated by .com and get a response like "I don't know anything about computers" where .tv is something everyone can understand. "I know how to watch TV"

Its so easy for people to see the future in this TLD I have explained to a few friends who know nothing about tech and hardly see a computer in their normal day, yet even they see it as a natural progression from .com and easy to remember etc. Just take a look at how they are promoting sail.tv its just sailTV and thats how this extension will be used from here on in most cases , as a TV channel
