But safe to say that this was the one name I had to have.....it is in my opinion the ultimate of upside .Tvs - if .TV does take off - and this is a forum where most of us are believers are we not......than Education speaks for itself..1 million OVT - global name recognition - bigger than colleges.tv, bigger tha universities.tv simply because it is big enough to cover them both...it can cover all the types of education, science ( we all know the bidding history on that one!) law, physchology....etc all of them....it covers the teaching professions, the online educations...etcetc
To me, Education.TV will be successful even if .Tv itself will not be.....plain & simple

To me this is everything on whether a venture will take off or not. I don't care if it's a .TV or a .INFO, it's that passion that you have for a project that is usually the key to successful ventures.
I LOVE this domain. Education is the foundation to any civilization. It's what made America great in the 50's. All those WWII veterans went to college on the GI Bill after the war. They got engineering degrees, JD's, medical degrees. The list goes on.
My guess is sooner rather that later this country will again put Education first. They have to. China is churning out 500,000 engineers a year compared to our 70,000. In India that number is even higher. We can no longer afford to just talk about education. We need to actively pursue a goal of making sure most of our children will either be college bound or receive technical training.
Education.TV is simply an awesome domain for such an intiative. My recommedation Miller would be to hook up with Microsoft, Dell, Google, etc to create a online mecca geared towards promoting education. You could sell parents "educational products" till the cows come home. This industry (edu products) is extremely lucrative.
Now back to passion. Keep it. Create a vision for yourself. Assemble a team. Share that vision with the team. Then SELL The hell out of www.Education.TV. Hooking up with the major tech companies who would benefit inkind from such a venture would increase the chance of success for this domain.
When you have development lined up, now or later, the extension does not make a cent difference. Even to make money, those OVT results are relavant when you have a site there. Once I was searching for games, and onlinegames.name turned up as the first result in google. So for google and other SEs extension matters not much.
Excellent domain, miller. I'm not really a big fan of .tv, but I see actual television-based education everyday (I'm a parent of two), and realize its yet-untapped potential.
Ed.tv and Education.tv are both too expensive for me. But Educ.tv was priced as a non-premium, so I grabbed it. According to dictionary.com, "educ" is abbreviation for educated, education, and educational.
I am hopeful that I will find an end partner - not end user for this site.
my wife is a math specialist who teaches eighth grade math aswell as a night school student studying to become a forensic laboratrist.....whilst I hail from the UK and moved to Phoenix AZ three years ago - I have a wonderful insight into the education system in the US because of my wife - it is so totally different to the UK, and I am sure each developed country have their individual advantages and disadvantages in their education system.....having a partner for this site allows me some levarage as to which direction it goes and perhaps even a small dose of social responsibility too!!!
By the way, I am trying to figure out what you mean in your sentence....are you saying you like alternative education or that you prefer your education on an actual TV??!!
I picked up JuniorCollege.tv just a bit ago. Figure I will make a directory out of it, and acquire commercials/documentaries on every junior college that I can.... perhaps down the road I can charge them for placement by state/specialty, etc...
There is no doubt in my mind that this education online + video = interactive teaching like never before possible.......................................... ...
Perhaps .TV will need to be a little patient as streaming technology develops -I believe that we are at least two maybe three years away from true video streaming that is as user friendly as watching a TV screen....but when the the two meet - .TV will be a force to be reckoned with - particularly with the education market.
Think about this - a very recent and tragic topic - three school killings taking place in the space of seven days - copycat killings - Bush being forced to hold an emergency education summit....how safe do parents feel right now???
Now imagine if small groups of parents "school pool" - my coined phrase for what could be each parent taking one day a week to look after a group of children learning their education from a computer screen via a streaming video connection in the privacy and PROTECTION of their homes...........
Far fetched - a little maybe - but I think the path is inevitable - ........
Excellent Idea ... it will do very well ... new xbox
generation is visual and would prefer seeing collegues etc
instead of reading about them.

That is generally confidential information and I would not be surprised that MillersXg does not want to share it given the same question in the second post.
Do you see Australia being ahead of the curve as far as interactive online is concerned - or is this something you see going on globally at more or less the same time?
Not that you are an education consultant, but you are an australian!!!
AWESOME NAME MILLERS,
That one is definitly HOT, I would put it right up there with Science.TV that didnt sell for $54k on Ebay. Absolutely a gem you have there.
