If someone didn't get it main idea was to grab best possible traffic from upcoming bud.tv which had 30mil invested into it and will launch in february.
Why BU over any other available LL reg.......hope you didn't use typos for this - I learned some time ago that typos belongs to .com and .com only - at least for the next decade or so......
I don't want to burst your bubble......I wish you well with it...but I am interested what made BU so enticing?
i personally think you could have done better than BU with no business plan in mind. bu.com and bu.net are parked pages so little potential to have them express interest.
good mistypes are a little more complex than simply purchasing a condensed version of a particular domain, bud.tv in this instance. since you alternate your hands to go from "b" to "u" and then back to "d" i see VERY LITTLE mistype traffic. typically the shorter the domain, the less likely there will be mistypes. if available, for mistype purposes, "bus" "byd" or even "vud" would have been better choices........

As you can see missing last letter is best here. Also you can check many others LLL typos which made into good LL score.
I just sold poho.com - typo of a huge pogo.com - which was receiving ONLY 40 uniques a day. Even though it had ovt w/ext ~50-60. At the same time pog.com is 721 ovt and I bet theres like 2,000 uniques a day or about that.
bd.tv - was taken.
And I didn't consider any LLL.tv typos.
Also BU has strenght itself. From Boston University to 44 other acronyms. Any B**** U***** might be interested in going into youtube analog. And TV is going to be the best place for that in the close future though.
So it is what it is.
Let's see how it goes. $500/year is not much. Going to renew for 5 years with discount for just $1,750 I think.
Thanks for the info you provided though. I bet you sold many typos in xx,xxx range. Since I sold like ~30 in low x,xxx range. And 1 typo for 3,2k yesterday. But well, I am just a newbie, you know.
And yes, BU is BU on it's own. Not a microsotf or something.
So traffic will only give more value to the name. But you are right I do have a plan to develop into something interesting in 2007.
