Guys,
Ideas on this forum for developing video content websites are exploding all over the place, as are more & more cable/netwwork companies who are wanting a piece of this pie.
.TV is by far, by far, the most interesting EXT right now, (translate that into most upside potential) .com may be king, but it is also old hat....the market knows the worth of a solid .com - and to give it credit, a solid .com will fetch a very tidy sum indeed.....but it is an established market
The .TV market has some way to go before being a real market - ( I take my hat off to Westblock on that one!!)I had an appraisal by a fellow domainer of high xx,xxx to low xxx,xxx for VID.TV. Another domainer told me to get rid of it as soon as possible because of the yearly $500 reg fees - because it would cut out all resellers interested in the name!!!!
This .TV has nothing to do with .com, they are worlds apart, and IMHO can be compared with the old world order and the new world order.....
Wineguy has thankfully taken the task upon himself to keep all of us upto date on all the lastest players entering the market, be it the broadcast enablers, content providers, website owners, cable company players - the list goes on and widens on a daily basis.
Thus, I am absolutely stuck on what to do with Vid.TV........it is such a great generic name that it could cover almost any avenue of the .TV market...
I know I would do it an injustice parking it until "I get an offer" syndrome.
I have since found out from fellow domainers that VID is the largest, most profitable private TV broadcasting compay in Russia. I am actually stunned that they did not reg this name, given the continuously growing thread on cable companies that have regged/protected their names aswell as buy names that they like too , like LIFE.TV, SUPER.TV etc
So there is an immediate end user that may want this name one day.
But I cannot rely on that to happen, and to be perfectly honest, I am much more excited about the dev opp with a name like VID than bunker down and wait for offers........
Thus, I want to open the ideas market up to members of this forum. Any and all ideas gratefully received and you may post them on this thread or PM me instead.
I have received an offer of $10,000 to invest into this website if the idea is right......but anyone with these ideas must have the ability and know how to make contact with players in the industry to get the ball rolling.......and will be compensated accordingly.
