| what do you think? for example
if star.com sold last year for over $100,000 and i have star.tv what should i ask for? 20% 30% of the .com value? more or less?
they approched me saying they have a client very interested in the domain. i suspect its for the .com owner because its the same company that brokered that deal.
what do you think?
thanks

| I wish I could offer you advice re $, but I can't. Just don't be too greedy but don't give it away either.
My thoughts are I think you're probably a little on the ambitious side with your feelings so far given the nature of Star's business (on their .com site). If they were (tv) industry related I would tell you to go for gold.
Anything high XXXX and up would be a good sale IMO.
GOOD LUCK!
oh and p.s make sure you get it published if you can |

| thanks grant,
star.tv is just an example. but i think i should ask for at least 20-30% of what the dot com sold for. if they wont accept 20% of the value ill hold on to it, its a great xxxx.tv name.
thanks for your feed back your a legend
if it sells and a big if? ill definately try to avoid a NDA. |

| Well, you pose a very interesting question regarding whether a .tv can be correlated to a percentage of a .com. Where you might be able to do such from .com to .net to .org I don't think you can with .tv
.TV really stands apart from other extensions and non tvers will have you believe that it is not worth much. Yet premium .tvs are being regged for huge YEARLY premium reg fees. They would not approach you if they did not think it was worth something now or later.
In my opinion Star dot tv has huge possibilites to the right end user with all the idol types shows out lately. In the end it will all depend on what you want to do with the domain. If you have no plans to develop then selling for a XXXX profit is sweet, else you will have to hold out for an end user and there is no guarantee one will knock on your door anytime soon. If you develop, I think it has the possibilites of making a great site which may catch the eye of an end user, win win!!
Good luck to you.

| thanks skg,
i think that .tv is worth somewhere between 20-30% of a reported .com sale especially if it fits the extension like music.com and music.tv. again it may seem high now but in 5-10 years i think it will be pretty realistic given whats happening with IPTV. .TV |
