As we all know, the world deployment of iPTV is aggressively underway. Leading the way in deployment and subscribers to-date are Asia, Europe, and the USA, respectively. Recently, however, the USA has just passed the Telecommunications Bill which lifts the barrier (franchise fees) for telephone companies, allowing iPTV to now ROLL OUT - here comes triple-play and quadruple play with a fever!
The iPTV industry is, by the year 2010, expected to generate worldwide revenues in excess of 10 to 55 billion (usd), depending on what report you are reading. It's not just hype either. The momentum is huge. Triple-play and quad-play, bring it on

I like to get my news feeds from all sources - gives me balance
I love the negative ads flowing from cable companies now, warning consumers of the telecom's "new tv" offerings - too funny. Polls show consumers are tired of the cable/satellite offerings (many reasons) and welcome "competitition" - and here comes iPTV. What's amusing is cable and satellite are themselves moving towards iPTV too - it's all about iPTV's capabilities. LOVE IT.
Thanks for the postings and feedback all. Keep 'em coming
