Seriously now, I think its great that G itself finally has their rightfully owned property. And Im extremely happy this domain isnt sitting in some squatters portfolio, adding more negativity to the publics perception of domainers.

My enthusiasm for this extension is ignited more and more by development and verifiable sales, and I am now doing my best to do both.

Hopefully G does something cool with it but if not, Im still happy at least they own it now.

Probably just a defensive reg, and yes, it wont change anything about value of .tv domains, but I am more interested if google bought that domain direct from sedo auction - in that case, nice and easy dirty cash for a squater.
