To the original poster, we've had multiple issues with this, just ignore.

I like the name personally, it would be fun to develop.

Thanks TreeByTheRiver!

I have had people tell me it could be worth anywhere from mid $xxx - mid $xxxx. I know it has value.. I just have to figure out the best way to exploit that value... Sell to end user or develop... hmmm... and for how much?

Saucey I think it's a good name honestly and it's value will increase even more if you develop.

Think it has value, try to get some offers on it...

Whenever I hear people talk about the blues its always "the blues" or "blues", almost never refered to in speaking as "blues music" although it is technically correct. So there is value but I doubt you could sell it now. Maybe hold it for 5 years and you'll do very well. Or better yet DEVELOP!!

btw- 1,850,000 for "blues music" is what i get when i query google. i guess its becasue i used quotes.

146,000,000 for "the blues" - big difference.

Thanx Finster. Question, Why would holding it undevelloped for 5 years change the value?

Secondly, if you use the Google Keyword Tool, you will get the search volume that I posted earlier.

Thanks for your comments and thoughts!

P.S. I just added some YouTube stuff to it. Still looks kinda hokey, but maybe it will help... Actuall, already got 3 bucks in rev. since yesterday when I went "live"!

Hey Man! Guess what... I'm not a developer! LOL! Can ya tell... hehehehehe!!! The site, BluesMusic.tv is pretty rugged.. only spent about 2 hours on it before taking it live... It is actually "THE GREAT SAUCEY EXPERIMENT".

The site is a "generic" deal from domainmonster, hundreds of templates, can be modified if you know what you are doing.. Cost's $10 bucks a year. There are TONS more features.. but I don't have a CLUE what I'm doing! Having said that... I am up to $4.46 in less than 24 hrs. Not sure how or why.. but hey.. I'll take it!

Hope that helps!

Saucey..The Great Website Experimenter...

I know! Its weird! I don't know where it's coming from... I am using adsense.. but have not signed up for Google analytics yet... I am hosted by Domainmonster and can't seem to find anything that tells me from them...

19 clicks
$4.47 in about 21 hours.. however, the rate of views seems to be lessening, so.. maybe it was just some strange anomaly. I hope to develop it more properly over time.. and hopefully the revenue will continue!

One thing for sure... the ads are completely relevant to the site, so I can understand the visitors clicking through..

Not a bad idea. I actually reg'd BlluesMusic.tv at a different registrar. I built the site under a different domain at DM and then forwarded BluesMusic.tv to it. Since it's a new reg, I couldn't transfer it to DM right away, and the registrar I used doesn't offer anything quite like it. Works for now, and if the site gets popular, I can always switch it up and hire a pro to design something special.

to answer your other question about waiting 5 years... in itself that will do nothing to add value, but what is likely to happen is the rising tide will raise all boats. i was buying .com's in the 90s and now i'm buying (or should say i bought) .tv's - for the much the same reasons - i see them as emerging as the # 2 domain in the next few years as more and more video migrates to the web and peoples lives become intertwined with video rich interactive media. its already happening!

but you have to be able to wait 5 or poss even 10 years before you're going to see the same kind of returns that .com made.

Thanx finster!

Lets say for arguements sake that the visitors drop off, and it becomes another domain with the occasional visitor and very sporadic "click". In this case, would you say that BluesMusic.tv is still a decent name and worth money to the right person? The only other .tv I own is ViewOnline.tv, I have had several offers for this one.. but all were under $200 bucks so I'm hanging on.

Cheers!

it only has to pay for itself each year and plus being better than a parking page its on the right track, and if you can get a few people to use the forum it will no doubt grow

welllllll, traffic not withstanding, if i owned it right now and it was renewal time i'd probably let it drop in favor of more valuable names being available. i've done that with a lot of names this year. dropped about 5000 and picked up only about 500 new ones. its not that i dont love .tv and think it has a brilliant future but why spend money on something that you can just as easily let sit in limbo for free??? good names drop and no one wants them. that will someday change and no doubt some of the good ones i keep an eye on wil be snatched up before i get back around to them. but at least i'm not draining my treasury dry.
