Golf.tv is the highest sale that comes to mind.
There have been a number of very high sales with NDA's though so we are unsure if anything ever went higher than Golf.tv to my knowledge.

Here is a few other large sales:

Vegas tv $350,009 Jan 04 GreatDomains
net.tv $100,000 2003-02-01Pvt Sale
free.tv $100,000 2003-02-01 Pvt Sale
china.tv$100,000 2003-02-01

It's amazing that Golf.tv goes for $600,000 and all it's been is a parked page.

Yeah i have always found that a little weird.

Surely you would only pay top $$ for a .TV at that stage IF you had some great plans for it as $600K would of bought a whole lot of great .tv's at the purchase date.

Unlikely to have been a genuine sale.

Highest ever .tv sale reported by dnjournal was Travel.tv for $65,000 in 2005.

my problem with .tv sales are why so many of them have NDAs in ratio to the amount of .tv sales......its hurting the extension, because there are many many more domainers out there who are skeptical about supposed high prices for particular names.

Now I know for sure of one sale over 100k, well as sure as I can be without seeing the paperwork.

Equity mentioned a few weeks ago that he knows of a sale over 500k, but doesnt know the name

Have any of you seen a great british film called "Secrets and Lies" - amazing -the moral of the story is that keeping secrets is corrosive in the short run and benefits no one in the long run, least of all the .tv extension and so we must go with 65k as the highest sale as Snoop correctly points out as the highest official sale for a .TV.....

Even yours truly has been gagged by an NDA for a SUBSTANTIAL sale of two .TVs........

Most sales aren't reported in every extension, it is nothing unique to .tv.

I have never believed the GOLF.tv sale, Millers is correct someone on this FORUM, beyond Highly respected in 2007 $500,000. JohnTV Me.tv sale was most likely higher than the travel.tv sale too but that is just speculation.

i have always respected nda and dont see it a problem one bit.. again imo.... people just want to do things and be low key...i have no problems on this front, i know some people always disclose there sale price or purchase price...

i undestand that Snoop, but as there are so few high sales in .TV, of those that are, most of them are NDA, so many oine or teo really high sales get reported a year....

whereas .net, .com and even .mobi are still reporting high end sales due to the large volume overall of high ticket sales in the respective extensions....so everyone gets to see that where as .tv - shuuuushhh

Whilst i am not disheartened at all as to the extension as a whole, I have stopped investing in .tv and unless I own really good .tvs I will let them drop.....

Like Felony.TV, like Barrister.Tv which I bought for $100 in aftermarket and then thought about it and said actually, I cant develop itand I cant be arsed to put it on the marketplace.....

I have what I have now, and unless I see real value or a name I just love - thats it for me......I have one huge development project and one blog that I am starting to get attached to.....

Golf.TV: $600,000 (Private?)-2003
Vegas.TV: $350,0009 (*) -Jan 2004, Sold at GreatDomains, I spoke with the owner of this domain to confirm.
Free.TV: $100,000 (Ric Johnson)-2003
Net.TV: $100,000 (Hui Qun Zhao)-2003
China.TV: $100,000 (Hui Qun Zhao)-2003
Property.TV: $100,000 (BVD)-2007

I agree, I'm sure we are missing dozens of NDA sales in 5 and 6 figures. I know of 4 myself...

...and many more to come.

And what about premiums like CARS.TV- showing as 75k per year, owned by ES.TV, how does one value that if asked what it sold for - I guess one can say it sold for 75k and add on another 75k per additional year renewed.........although I am sure there is a more precise formula......

Those were registrations Niko, not sales in the aftermarket. Now one can still look at those as a strong belief in .tv by paying that kind of premium pricing. Games.tv was regged for a year at $100,000 at one time in 2007.

Is there any reason to distinguish one way or another whether a name was bought from the regisrtrar or aftermarket - especially when registrar is a yearly fee.....???

I cant think of one reason.......

I sold all my names to my shadow company held through 3 LLC's for tax reasons.

Sadly, I was ripped off.

Thanks Guy's for all your replies please feel free to keep them comming.

Just about the yearly reg fee - You used to be able to buy out of these also, I dont know if you still can but you used to be able to do a deal with the registrar on certain names I know of a few.

Regards,

Robbie

It was indeed higher then travel.tv Ray, actually (very) low 6 figures and a real pity it was under NDA.
