I just registerd Palma.tv
Renewal of $500 a year.

I'm shocked i got such a great domain with decent population, amazing tourism, well known, vibrant nightlife, culture......etc
Area is also known as "Palma de Mallorca' but the shorter version is much better in my view.

I'm delighted i got it, it is better than every domain i sold this week. IMHO

So what do you guys think, anyone want to guess what it's worth in this Geo mad world we live in.

Be honest now, call me a fool if you think i'm a fool.

And let me tell you that you were very very lucky on that one ! I almost registered it last week but changed my mind and made other choices.

Anyway, it's an great registration. Palma is an excellent tourist destination and definitely has some very nice development potential and monetization opportunities.

Ronnie – that’s a top notch name!

Wonderful tourist spot – I love the town. I was there 2 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed walking around Palma - nice views all over the place. Clearly the town is on the up – growing number of boutique hotels and restaurants.

Palma.TV is just ripe for development. Field of dreams……just build it and they will come. Make it trilingual - don’t forget the German tourists – long time German holiday destination. I’m sure you could get some great media, and maybe some sponsorship, from the official tourism office of Palma or Mallorca. Good luck with this baby, CarryOn

Get back to developing Scotland - owning Palma.Tv is just a distraction.

Let me take it off your hands (for a small sum of course) so you can make Scotland.Tv 'rise again'.

Seriously, its at moments like these that you realise there is an element of doubt in all of us. MichaelDotcom saw it, but didn't take it, as I have done with several other names. That $500 premium might have played its part.

If you can develop this quickly the $500 premium will be nothing. Ten bucks a week!

On the downside (and don't forget YOU asked for ones to be proffered) I would have tried to get Majorca.TV or Mallorca.Tv first. This is because the tourist market is more familiar with the names, it is an island, and the premiums are $0 and $50 respectively.

I don't want to leave this thread having put a bad taste in your mouth so I will end by stating that I think the name is really good. Even if you sit on it, it will take at least four years for you to 'realistically' not be able to get a healthy profit on a sale.

Palma.tv is a great one,
I was considering to register "palma.tv" or "madeira.tv" a few months before,
they are both $500/yr premium,
but I finally decided to take madeira.tv instead of palma.tv.
Now I regret not to take them both.

P.S. I received a $500 offer for madeira.tv in last month. LOL

Of course i would of much preffered this to be standard renewal fee & buying lots of Premiums is a risk but at $500 i feel this is well worth the risk. My total renewal bill is around $1500 per year and given the type of geo's i own then i dont feel i'm taking a big risk here (i will never be in the position of not being able to pay my renewals so dont worry about me guys

Jimbo there is a reason i do not own Mallorca.tv like you suggested (of cours ei would of liked that more)
I have made the owned about 10 offers which have all been refused or countered with BIG sums. Look at his Sedo listing, he has had 60 offers so i was never going to get it for a realistic price.

I should of mentioned in my 1st post that i did not buy this to develop, it will be kept for resale though not at $xxx minimum bids like my sales this week.

I am absolutely delighted at this buy, espcially due to fact i paid for it by selling off my old domains that i did not like or want anymore.
For example i sold Sumatra.tv for $1900, i can reg & hold Palma.tv for 3 years using this cash which i'm willing to bet will make me far more profit that holding Sumatra.tv ever would. IMHO
That is what all my recent sales were about, getting rid of domains i dont want to replace them with others i see more potential in & i see Massive potential in Palma.tv

** My family also holiday in Palma every single year so i have good local knowledge which did help me decide on this one.

I've not changed Bob, i was always a Sales genuis but i kept it very, very, very well hidden until this week.

My MIdas touch does not extend to webdesign, programming or anything to do with video (unless i press the wrong button & your video suddenly works & then i'll claim it was all down to my great work!)

I was just looking back through some old threads & came across this one from when i regged Palma.tv at $500 yr.

Thought id update things to give my current view on it@

Then i regged it purely for a longterm investment but since then i've thought much more about developing as i see tourist destination Geo's as my preffered future developments & Palma is pefect for this. IMHO

Since i bought his i have had a couple of offers of low $x,xxx but nothing that made me want to sell (i'd probably not slel unless i got nearer $10k as it is one of the domains i really think i could make work if i got round to developing)
One of the interested parties in this name was a well known foreign Media company who own a number of multimedia / web tv sites that include a couple of Geo's.

I'm not sure what will happen with Palma.tv over the course of 2009, ideally i'll have some sort of website up & running or i will announce a fantastic sale but who knows??

** Since the last post i had also bough BalearicIslands.tv which is a standard renewal fee.

Would work great in partnership for Palma.tv to allow me to focus on the whole area as well as just Palma.
Both are longterm holds for now.

Play hard to get and good fortunes will hit your target price.

At 500 a year it looks like a good value play and having read up on this.

Its hard to follow you guys and the geo news lol. What's happening, who is doing what and behind the scenes. I will stick to to my small geo name and only one for time being lol.
