Keyword on .tv was hot for a while it seemed after jazzon.tv sold for 2k plus I believe.
I haven't watched many sales in this format. But I know couple people went crazy and bought this format.
I didn't go after this trend and I didn't follow the hype.
Now to the name.. Tennis is a huge sport and its a nice short name that makes sense for this format and .tv extension. It would need to be developed and be a video portal for tennis stars, tennis matches and etc.
Without development I would say 50 to 75 dollars on board here. Sedo could fetch higher or end user??
I definitely agree with you on this point. I didn't go after this trend either.
jazzon.tv is really a very specific case. Its high price was very much linked to the fact that jazz.tv is such a very expensive premium ($50,000 per year).
But what worked in this very specific case would not necessarily work in others.
True. My reply was actually about Jeff's post and a point of view about ***on.tv domains in general.
I'm not personally fond of them and I don't think anybody should go crazy about them. Many of them would probably be worthless.
I think they can only work with top premium keywords (which have indeed often very expensive renewal fees).
However, "tennis" actually falls into that "top premium" category, so I guess it could work for this very specific case too. I wouldn't expect huge returns but it could work reasonably well if you find the right buyer.
Can't wait see it developed. Am I wrong but was jazzon.tv sold for 7k. Been thinking on this since my post? Can't keep up with all these sales and I am mobi now.
.tv my comments were just a general thought on this format. Me personally I would have rather owned tennistv.tv vs tennison.tv. I am sure tennistv.tv is taken.
By the way, cricket being a very popular sport in many countries, it's really nice to see all those great .tv sites about cricket made by major organizations and corporations. That can only increase .tv awareness, create new endusers and improve the reseller market.
Yes indeed. You'll find out that there are more and more .com sites which have recently created companion video sites on .tv domains. That's happening to newspapers too...
cricinfo.tv is the offspring of cricinfo.com
cricketaustralia.tv is the offspring of cricket.com.au (official site of the Australian cricket board)
lancs.tv is the offspring of lccc.co.uk (Lancashire county cricket club)

Hi Guy's ...apparently, I was the one who sold JazzOn.tv to some guy from holland late last year. Sedo was only responsible for escrow! I think TennisOn.tv may have some leverage, particularly if Tennis.tv is an annual premium and it is a very visual sport. However, like it has been pointed out on this thread, one has to be quite rational about the "On" at the end. It seems to make perfect sense in some cases rather than others I suppose. I'm staking out on SaleOn.tv and ONDiscount.tv for instance. What I am finding though, is there are some very clever ways to come up with what maybe construed as a potential hit with .TV. Whenever you guys have a chance, take a trip to your local borders book store or barnes and noble.....the gems are all there right on the "Magazine Rack"!!
For instance, I've got WomanToday.tv and FoodWine.tv which kinda makes a lot of sense for tv programming. I'm working on ThisIsTravel.tv & CannesFilms.tv to give you another perspective of where I think this whole environment is going. I really wish us all very well because we are at the very beginning of true internet convergence....all happening on a .TV near YOU!
Wow! it's truly amazing that my sale of JazzOn.tv has encouraged others. Quite flattering really...but yes, there are some wicked "ON" .tv reg's out there. I really like what you've got there gilescoley! RapOn.tv , GigsOn.tv & BandsOn.tv sounds really really wicked!! anyone got GoOn.tv?
