Hi,

I would like to hear your thoughts on "Canal1.tv"

This domain of course means "Channel 1" in Spanish & French.

Now we all know that "Channel + (number) .tv's are worth a great deal of money so where does that leave this?

Personally i feel this is a great name at standard reg fee as "Channel or Canal" +number is perfect fit for .tv in anyones language.

By doing a quick search Online i can find a number of TV/Media Companies who go by the name of "Canal1"
The obvious end user could be to sell to one of they TV companies who go by the name Canal1 but it could be used by anyone to brand their own Canal1 online with .tv being perfect extension.

Google results for "canal1" 782,000

The only "Canal +" .tv sale i can find is canal16.tv @ $217 a few days ago via Sedo.

So what do you guys think of this?
Any idea of value or possible buyers?

I am in no hurry to sell, infact i would really like to keep this for a year or 2 until EVERY TV Company own their .tv (many TV stations already own & run their .tv)
Even though im not too keen to sell just yet i would really like your views on the value and possible future value?

Do you guys like this as much as i do??

LOL, WOW!

I had no idea my name sold for $217 LOL I thought it sold at the initial bid price of $133!!! I read your post and was very confused so I checked my sedo and sure enough the highest bid was $163 euros... As far as value Im sure yours has value. I get traffic on all my channel names. Do you get traffic? I would say yours is worth at least $200-$450 now and alot more in the future. It does represent a good branding opportunity as you said - the #1 channel !!!

It would be worth more than Canal16.tv as it's a lot easier to remember & it's the 1st number there is, I would say somewhere between $250 to $450

Canal1.tv gets somewhere around 200 Uniques per month, almost all the traffic comes from SOuth America and i would say its no coincidence that one of the bigger Canal1 Tv Companies is in Ecuador : They use Canal1tv.com

I would of bought Canal16.tv from you if the bids stayed around $100+ but i think you got a good price for values right now.

I honestly believe Canal .tv's will be a great investment if held for a while, i only wish i owned some of the others but anytime i have asked the owners about selling then i have been told they want $5,000+ usually

Anyone else have any views about this or Canal +number .tv's in general?

I wont sell this anytime soon but in a yr or 2 then i expect to get a tidy sum (IF .tv really takes off like we expect) I hope that i never let this go for less that medium $x,xxx but thats a long time away yet.

I can remember pmming someone, I think it was Argos, that Canal1.tv was available, reg it if you want. Then he came back with, oh that's a good one, you reg it. I said, oh no, I think you should, etc., etc. We were still going back and forth politely to eachother when someone else stepped in and got it, lol.

I like this domain, very nice registration.
