I am mostly a dot tv domainer. Just wondering - does it make sense to buy dot mobi's to match my dot tv's? In other words; in setting up a video-centric "whatevername.tv" dot tv site does it make sense to also set up a matching separate "whatevername.mobi" dot mobi site with matching but smaller file size videos for mobile devices? It seems everyone says that "dot mobi is dead", but i am not so sure. Should i buy the matching dot mobi just in case dot mobi makes a rebound? Thx for any advice

If you're talking about doing this for domain speculative purposes I personally wouldn't go there across an entire portfolio. Just as it's questionable if a .com website wants the companion .mobi, I don't see why the same issue wouldn't arise for a .tv website also. So it's questionable if your extra investment would result in extra revenue. Similarly, those who are interested in .mobi don't necessarily want a companion .tv domain, two very different markets. I know when I've bought recent .mobi's, I highly doubt I would have paid extra for the .tv except for two occasions. So from either the .tv or the .mobi enthusiast perspective, the other domain is an afterthought rather than a deal maker.

i think .mobi is dead for non-mobile related keywords. so it depends on your .TV keywords..

What makes you think mobile related keywords have more value than other keywords? I'm not sure I even know what a mobile keyword is. Is it mobile.mobi, phone.mobi, mobilestore.mobi...?

In regards to the OP...buy the mobi if you have a dev plan. If you simply wish to resell in the future then forget it!
