What are your predictions, expectations and hopes for .mobi 2010?

I was just wondering what you guys think. I don’t know what to expect in the next year. Will it be like this one or will there be some surprises related to .mobi?

Yuck. Worms are for birds, not for domainers.

Mobi will continue to wander in the wilderness for a while yet. The vast masses will not be interested in the mobile web until smart phones are a lot cheaper (<$50) and bandwidth is nearly free. Both will inevitably occur, but we have a few years yet.

I suspect there will be plenty of interest in Mobi when the technology is cheap enough. Slow growth in 2010.

Mobile internet will continue to grow, the new tablet will help this growth. As for .mobi I agree that there will be lots more drops. The people to benefit from .mobi are the ones who already have the key domains, plus the few who have the foresite to register emerging technology domains which fit the .mobi extension. There are a limited amount which will be successful in this niche, .mobis will not be like .coms where a lot are traded like collectors cards by domainers.

I hope mobi reg fees drop to $1.99 so that when you say a mobi value is reg-fee it will actually be correct.

Mobi is dead.

Most phones can handle .com
Most relevant .com can switch to a m.*.com
Most interesting sites are reached through apps (though FF wants to change that)
