![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Betting on the mobile web looks like a pretty good bet to make at present. With netbook sales going through the roof, it's clear that plenty of people are willing to accept compromises for the sake of mobility. I lost track of the number on how many cell phones are out there, however it's pretty clear with the way things going that every phone will soon be internet-enabled. I read a couple months back about the SEACOM cable in South Africa -- exciting to see affordable internet and increasing global internet penetration becoming a reality. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=607167 I honestly just don't see the logic in betting strictly on .mobi at this point (eg. buying .mobi domains with plans to never develop them). There is of course nothing wrong with using a .mobi domain to develop a mobile compatible website and if .mobi were to succeed, it would only add value to what you already created. Mobile development = good idea Pure domaining in .mobi = bad idea

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | penny stocks I think dotmobi domaining is still strong speculation ..like real estate, how much lower will it go or will it rise for good. Remember when the real estate market was at its peak? Would it be better to buy a house at its peak or when you can get a good keyword in dotmobi for cheap and hold long term.. Opportunities are made in recycling, but for long term holding of course.. Clearly, Development for mobile is key, but nice to have a generic you can't have in .com Is dotcom domaining really a good idea, when you spend $xxx, xxx at this time? We are a domaining forum, I would recommend getting a couple strong dot mobis, at the lowest prices, for long term hold and development; but, not hundreds or thousands (some are gonna reach for it) unless your already rich enough and ready to renew.. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=607167 I don't have much, I am glad at the few I have for the mobile coming - rather than having nothing DotMobi ![]() Kind Regards, Yelo

![]() | We were on holliday and I asked my son of 13 years old to look for the weatherforecast on the internet phone. He went to the site and said it's very slow but they also have a .Mobi site wich loads much faster. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=607167 We need fast loading sites on our phones and the point is most sites load to slow or are to big so you have to scroll around. . So, there will never be a mobile internet, such thing does not exists, there will only be sites wich people like to use on their phones for one reason or the other. Ofcourse the number of sold internet phones will increase but that doesn't make it a mobile web. I think the use of the internet phones will stay a fraction versus the use of PC's. for a long long time.

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=607167 I was travelling in Europe this summer and once driving in my car I got stuck on the road. I realized I'm going to be late for my ferry. Luckily I knew about Europeanferries.tel and all I had to do to get my ferry company number write it in my phone and all the information was there. I think it's great and I am looking forward to the time where all the directory information will be available by going to for example Denvertaxi.tel or Bostondoctors.tel or whatever you are looking for. | ||||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would like dotmobi to be a success, but I have a worry about it. Where will th erevenue come from if a site is not delivering end user products and services? What I mean is can you see revenue from ads coming from mobile sites? Jay. |
