After a few months of trying to find out where I wanted this project to go, 14 hours of coding today, and hours of headaches, I think I'm finally ready to have people beta test LocalPortal.mobi

Here's how it works.

First you need to sign up for an account, and activate it via email.

Then, simply choose the domains you wish to use, and change your nameservers to:

ns1.localportal.mobi
ns2.localportal.mobi

After being logged in click on the "My Sites" link.

From there you can add your site title, logo, description, footer text, admob ID, and much more. You can change the stylesheet of your site as well. A default stylesheet is provided for easier editing.

Follow the few short steps, and your site is created!

Now you can Add Static Pages to your site with just a few clicks as well.

LocalPortal splits your admob impressions 50/50, and we (will) run a small network of ads throughout the sites. Revenue will be implemented to our network after all of the bugs are worked out, if any.

So PLEASE add your site to www.localportal.mobi

I've done 2 today, and I think they look alright.

Well here's a bug to work on. I just went to your emass.mobi site, and searched for Shoe Repair in South Shore. I got 1-Boston site, 6-California sites, 1-Virgina, 1-New York. Just an fyi.

I'm pretty sure it has to be a specific town. If you do shoe repair "Boston" it works. This is pulled from a Yahoo feed, so I will suggest to them to also include geographical locations, counties, etc.
