And if anyone was having any doubts:
The following addresses DO NOT resolve!
m.hotmail.com
mobile.hotmail.com
wap.hotmail.com
hotmail.com/mobile
hotmail.com/m
hotmail.com/wap
I am glad to see that at least one big corporation is starting to take notice that having all those formats is bad practice and confusing to consumers. Have a great day!
Most of the personally identifying information we collect is what you tell us about yourself. For example, certain of our products and services allow you to interact and share personal information and data with others. You choose what you want to share and how you want to share it.
Sometimes, we record your phone number. We record your phone number when you send it to us; ask us to remember it; or make a call or send a text message or SMS to or from Google. If you ask us to remember your phone number, we will associate your phone number with your Google Account, or, if you do not have a Google Account, with some other similar account ID. We often generate this account ID based on your device and hardware IDs, so if you change your device or hardware, you will have to re-associate this new device or hardware with your account before we can authenticate you.
Most of the other information we collect for mobile, such as your device and hardware IDs and device type, the request type, your carrier, your carrier user ID, and the content of your request, does not by itself identify you to Google, though it may be unique or consist of or contain information that you consider personal.
If you use location-based products and services, such as Google Maps for mobile, you may be sending us location information. This information may reveal your actual location, such as GPS data, or it may not, such as when you submit a partial address to look at a map of the area.
Certain of our products and services allow you to personalize the content you receive from us. For these products and services, we will record your preferences and any information you provide about yourself or your interests (such as a list of your stocks to personalize your stock listings).
If you use Google to transcode, or format, non-mobile pages to display properly on your device, we need to send your request to Google's servers for formatting. That means that we will record these requests, which are generally for material beyond Google's sites.
For products and services with voice recognition capabilities, we collect and store a copy of the voice commands that you make to the product or service.

Cosmic is your life so trivial, that you really have nothing better to do than spending your time belittling an extension and mocking those that invested in it?? Your point has been redundantly noted here. Quite pathic when one needs to continually criticize others cause they have a different interest than you!
Funny, I figured you to be somewhat younger with your bragadocious attitude.
guys, i also need to know WHY.... i am seriously on the verge of tears, I NEED ANSWERS NOW!
ALL HAIL .COM! (...begins goose-stepping with a burning .mobi flag clenched tightly)
GMAIL IS THE FUTURE OF INTERNET MAIL SENDING!!! (...sits down on the floor, putting my head between my legs and rocking back and forth slowly repeating, gmail is the future.... its the future... i predicted it back in 2008)

It seems there are a lot of people trying to throw .mobi a lifeline. My Verizon phone already as email services built in, including Hotmail. I don't have to navigate to .anything.
It's pretty easy to spot the .mobi bagholders here. Always trying to "pump" a seemingly dead domain extension. JMO
you know, since my television set displays TV programs just fine.
my computer displays videos just fine as well, it seems there is no need for a .TV domain either.
i'll be back... i need to make a phone call to every single television channel and let them know to stop advertising .TV domains when they could use .COM.....
DUHHHHHHHHHHH!

Any use of .mobi is good news no matter what anyone on the forum says. I dont see a hotmail.ws or a hotmail.name or a hotmail.cc being used so why dont you bash those extensions instead. Anything said in any domain forums arent going to have any major effect on any extension. People think if they bash .mobi on a forum like this that it will kill the extension or something. People can say .mobi isnt needed when you can use .com for mobile sites but you can also use .com for video sites instead of .tv or .com for non profit sites instead of .org. People also say mobi is being outdated by technology but .com is also under risk for being outdated by technology and also by legislation and from ICANNs new decisions and future decisions. .mobi is more about a brand than a technology and thats what people recognize is a brand.
Im still waiting to hear what JEFF has to say, i have invested into .mobi from rush, and supported the extension,
but recently reading JEFF's post, I have to give him credit as he has raised some good issues .mobi is facing. Either way, premium and good .mobi s will continue to sell.
The demand, that i was hoping it would have by 2012 is looking slim.
Thanks Mark.
Imagine that, they buried that address. It seems that just maybe they are still undecided as to the format. But being that hotmail.com still has a pretty solid userbase, I'd think they would follow the logic of using the subdomain on their main hotmail.com site, don't you think? Even if they are branding their live.com site, it should of redirected into exactly the address you specified. Instead we get an extremely long address redirect- designed to discourage hand entry. In fact, I am almost betting this is a market test to check out which holds stronger, the subdomains or the .mobi brand. Last time I checked it was easier to type in hotmail.mobi vs mobile.live.com/hm but then again some people do like to make their lives more complicated and type away more. Easier to type in yourcompany.mobi. Just do to simplicity.
But I do get what you are saying, don't get me wrong!
Anyways, I'm glad it has sparked some interesting comments, both positive and negative in regards to the dotMobi brand.

I do believe we are at a point that anything can happen! Or maybe I just know something...something that could change it all.
