| Senior Member | BofA mobi follow up While taking some cash out from one of BofA's ATM and voila, I saw BofA.mobi advertisement! It was too quick for me to capture the screen with my camera, but it seems like BofA is really doing a good job of advertising this extension.... |

I always find it a bit annoying when people who have no interest in the subject at hand feel the need to jump in and "poot forth" their humble opinion. | |

| Senior Member | lol, this is the same crap over and over. i didn't realize i needed your permission to post what i observed. i reported what i saw, not what could have been, would have been, might have been. i am not starting a thread to pump up the extension, but to note a simple observation. i refuse to get into this churlish comments all over gain so if you feel so compelled not to make money in the mobi extension, why don't you just stay out of this sub-forum altogether? better yet, put my name on the ignore button? i will do the same. Here is Cosmic again!!! Egging on. I am just pointing this out for postive news! Cosmic serriously what is your issue? Are gona try to get us all banned for your ignorant sayings? The OP of this thread pointed out an advertisment "positive for .mobi" This is not a bashing thread, but it seems like people keep seeping into the cracks finding a need to bash .mobi. I apploagize to the OP It was a great find for that Ad for BOFA from the OP keep the peace, and stop this mobi bashing. Keep the threads real. We are adults and proffesionals and please don't egg it on again!!!!

| Senior Member | i was walking through a mall here in Cleveland earlier today when i came across a Bank of America ATM, then i remembered this thread... ![]() It also said they have over 18,000 ATMs throughout the country, so if this is marketed on all of them... talk about extension awareness!!! Hey is that an iPhone???

| NamePros Regular | This commercial came on last night and I became a little excited in anticipation of seeing BOFA.mobi displayed boldly at the end of it. To my disappointment, that's not what I saw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bu0rtQGhMN0 |

| NamePros Regular | Don't worry, remember, Pinky said that the iphone is not a mobi killer but will actually HELP .mobi and take it to a whole new level of popularity. So the more iphones the better .mobi will do.

In 2005 there were barely any mobile websites or people using their cellphone to get on the internet at all... some did, but mobile phone browsers started to get really good only in 2006. mobile website = .mobi, mDOT, domain.com/mobile, wap.domain.com, etc, etc, etc..) - same concept. Still, in 2006 most people did not use their cellphone to get on the internet and some even questioned whether the idea was viable at all. In 2007 the iphone came and suddenly everyone started to agree that accessing the internet on a mobile device is pretty neat. There is really nowhere for .mobi to go but UP, since the basic concept of a .mobi website is exactly the same as mDOT, domain.com/mobile, and YES... iPhone Applications! the only question is how big a slice of the pie will .mobi have?

Also I am SURE that some mobi fan will reply to this news and twist it somehow to be positive.

| NamePros Regular | Ahhh...Here's the poor OLD GUARD at it again.... ![]() snoop...cosmicray....labrocca...et al....Experienced and accomplished domainers, they are...But locked by that very experience into a one-dimensional view of domain value...Unable to break out from it....Tunnel-visioned into rejecting any new paradigm of value...Unable to imagine that any extension other than .COM will ever have real value... Poor, rigid, unimaginative, OLD GUARD....Like the 'Mainframe' IBM of the early '80's - unable to see the financial potential of the desk-top computer....Like the Shipping Line, and Railroad, owners of the 1920's that declared that there would never be any money in mass transport of people by air....Like Old Guard domainers that today declare that there will be no value in .mobi, .asia, .whatever-you-like... But, that's okay...The world's full of Jeremiah's, and doubting Thomas', and folks that see the future through a rear-view mirror....It was ever thus. ...Y'see, they know they're right, because that's all they know...Blinded by the certainty of past experience. So comfortable. So righteous. So....unimaginative... Lets leave the poor Old Guard to the comforts of kingdom .Com - They'll make money there....As, indeed, we shall, too... ...We don't need the approval of the OLD GUARD for kingdom .mobi - any more than the 'new-fangled' Motor Car manufacturers - or, Airplane makers - needed the approval of the Buggy & Carriage-makers of yesteryear... Simply let the Old Guard miss the opportunities we see. .

| Recovering Jerk Forum Moderator | Another personal attack and I will report your post for harrassment as well as add you to my ignore. If you have nothing to add to a discussion DomainTalker then I suggest you not post in one. I don't appreciate you calling me out and also painting me with some untrue brush stroke. Quote:

| NamePros Regular | Okay, labrocca...Felt a bit feisty when I posted that...Maybe it was a bit unfair of me...Sorry about that... ...But, then, in fairness, if folks constantly naysay .mobi investors - which .mobi investors do not enjoy - sooner, or later, its not unreasonable to expect a reaction that may be in terms that the naysayer may not enjoy, as well... .
