WichitaWeather.mobi now LIVE!

The site is ready and loaded. Thanks to egnited for his super hard work to help get the weather project on the way. This is the first of 67 weather sites. Our goal is to bring these sites to the general public in a one month period of time. Our sites are viewable on most phones but we are concentrating on marketing to the smartphone market. With smartphones being the primary mobile phones sold now, this only makes sense.

The site offers current conditions, 7 day forecast, local radar and satellite rader. There are a few things that will set us apart from everyone else.

1) WichitaWeather.mobi will provide severe weather information. You will be able to check and see if there is a Tornado warning or Thunderstorm warning anywhere in Kansas.

2) Through the Amazon affilate program you will be able to view a selection of Weather Radios and purchase them on your phone. I tried this process and was able to click on the Weather Radio link, choose a weather radio, and checkout at Amazon in :22 seconds. Three pages in a mobile format is much quicker than it takes the average .com on a 3G iPhone.

3) We felt being able to get your weather forecast in audio is very important to what we want to offer the public. You are able to click on the Audio Weather link and listen while you are driving or on the go.

4) Our strategy with advertising is to use banner ads at the bottom of each page. These ads will be click to call. In the future if we decide to do browser detection we make the ad link to the advertisers website for a PC visit. In the future the ad format may change but we feel this is best for the viewer experience at this time.

Nice job, I just tried it on my computer and the audio report opened in iTunes.

Whoa, theres some severe storm warnings for S. Kansas "this storm has a history of producing golf ball sized hail, seek shelter now inside a sturdy structure!" I thought storms just came and went, didnt know some had histories, thats ominous.
